If you check my posts from previous seasons I mention it often about how players are affected mentally during games were things are going wrong and vice versa.
I've mentioned many times how important it is for Radford to instill mental fortitude and the strength of will to want to play for each other and having mini targets to aim for to avois such drubbings.
However rugby players are human beings, they are no more predisposed to be mentally stronger than anyone else.
I didn't comment much on the Widnes debacle but that was a case of things going wrong, our confidence and ability to perform going tits up and Widnes playing very well and boosted in confidence

Of course when it's your own team it's hugely different, feelngs run deep, it's massively frustrating, annoying and disheartening. It's why we have forums to talk about and diagnose our sucesses and our failures.
