great memories for me, such a great atmosphere, my first match was against cas, i think it was c davidson first match,him and hancock where our halves, keegan fullback, big denis hartley was prop for cas that day ithink, great times, but the old ground was failing and so sad to see it so,

Oh my..you never had a hyde's meat pie!! Yes, you missed out, think it was a Hot water crust pastry wth a delicious minced beef and gravy filling. Used to get some on the way to my nans every week without fail. I know time passes and I was a kid but craving for one of those pies nicely warmed (or even cold with brown sauce) was just an abiding memory. I'd take one with me to the Boulevard and get my auntie to warm it up before she'd get me in for nowt (she was a barperson in the club & my uncle a groundsman)..Happy happy days  |
