Agreed. Looks a great talent, but Shannon for me. For now.

I no shaul has had 2 great games for us and were excited about his future with us hopefully. But it's still only 2 games at this level, 1 being against a championship 1 team.

I'm not hating on him, but to say replace him with McDonnell at this time is pretty stupid.
Shaul has all the making to be a top class full back and hope he stays, but McDonnell upto now has been one of our best players and Shaul would be better going out on loan for a season and returning to us for the FB role.

Shaul - played against Wakefield and crusaders and was a bricky 2 years ago

Mcdonnell - Super league player for 3 years and played Nrl.

Its not even up for debate really. Shaul has done well in the games hes played but mcdonnell has being one of our best players so far. Imo get him signed up on a 2-3 year deal and loan him out for a year to test him and see how he goes.

mcdonnel is lazy lazy lazy, regularly gets himself out of position when we defending our last 10m which was really evident against giants away ( how can you tackle someone attacking your line if your stood 5 metres ingoal)

and so slow at getting to a kicked ball ie friday lazy ,hes the only full back ive seen who trys to catch a high bomb by being almost on one knee? !

i dont see what all the hype is about mcdonnell i seriously think some fans only like him because they can fit a chant around his name and so dont see errors and the knots he ties himself in.

shaul has pace to burn and gaining more and more confident class like ben crooks if your good enough your old enough .

while im ranting ,briscoe and yeaman defending against wigan lads youll never tackle anyone running backwards looking over your shoulder ???? ex internationals and you can see why!

mcdonnell = chris thorman (also ex nrl!!!!!)
shaul = could be the next gary kemble/shaun briscoe

Mcdonnell isn't lazy he's careful, it was p1ssing it down on Friday and he wasn't risking knocking on from the kick.

tbh though. I disagree with everything you said about McDonnell as he's been one of our best players this season and is a decent full back that we've been needing for a while. He offers attacking options and is fairly good at the back also.

I agree shaul is the next best thing to come up from the academy but i think you maybe praising him a little to much because He's Only Played 2 Games.One against Wakey, other against championship 1 side. Yes sign him up to a big contract but for the first season loan him out. Then come back fitter, greater knowledge of his role and when McDonnell's contract runs out, prove his case.

IMO, but If shaul had a nightmare in his next game he played, would you be saying the same stuff??

This is one of the worst cases of having it in for someone. Can't believe you've waited all this time. Drops a ball, and here you are. Been consistently one of the best. Even though has nothing to work with at the moment.
Even last week v cas he made more metres than anyone on the field.
Shaul had 2awful games for York n hasn't played since. How do you rate that against Shannon m?
