Even Gentle picked up on that point and said he would be looking at working on that. He sounded more disappointed on that fact than he seemed to let on in the interview too and he said still work to do.

It shows we were slaughtering them but then let up and didn't finish the job. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with the result and the points we put on the board, but I was disappointed that we put the cue on the rack (sorry for the Stevoism) and didn't put 70/80 on them. I was pleased we tried a few things, even if they didn't come off, but we could have nilled them and had an even bigger positive points difference.
We got the 2 points, so I'm happy, but as the title says, we did get a bit sloppy in the last 10.
Karen is prob right though. Against a better team we may not decide to go training after 65 mins.

Only probably?? I am a woman after all!!
I personally think we were in training mode very early on. Pretty much once we knew they weren't going to put up much of a fight, hence the more open attack which showed we were trying things that in the last few games we have been nervous to do.

Exactly. If we were playing a top team we wouldn't have been in a 58+ scoreline to allow us to drop off the pace.

It was difficult to get any meaningful feedback from the game as Widnes were so poor at times it felt like a CC 4th round game against lower league opposition. Still it's another 2 points in the bag.
Anyone know how Shaun Briscoe is?'" The lads got feed up of scoring

| Dont think its been mentioned yet but we only had 1 fit sub left in the 2nd half, players were bound to get tired hence another reason for getting a bit sloppy towards the end

Quite right. We had Aspinwall, Martin and Horne all either unable to return, or not worth risking further compounding their injuries (good call when your so far in front)
Not trying to make excuses for the last 15 mins as lets remember, Widnes had 2 players helped off and 1 stretchered off as well so where down to same number of fit bodies as us. At least it gives Gentle a bit of a stick to beat the players with at training and reminds everybody that there is plenty of improving left to do.
As has already been alluded too, i think the 10 min stoppage for the Briscoe injury saw us lose our momentum and possibly our mindset. Add to this a few of our guys left on the pitch had picked up knocks as well (seem to recall Lynch taking a good few mins to run off a foot or ankle in 2nd half) and you can maybe imagine the Cas game was at the back of some players minds already.
That said, we still almost added a couple tries if we just hadn't pushed the final pass when it was't really on so hell, lets just look forward to the next match with an ever increasing amount of 'optimism' (something folks in this part of the world have had precious little of in recent times).

We've switched off towards the end in all but the saints game this season and it's cost us 3 points so far. Still, good to see expro back to his usual self.
And widnes were absolute gash. Probably the worst side I've seen in SL since leigh were last in

| Need to stop switching off at the end of games. 5 out of 6 games now we've leaked points at the end. Only against Saints have we finished as the stronger team.

I would just say though that I think Widnes had as tough a time of it as us. I know they had to take someone off in the first half but not sure if he ever came back, but they definitely lost another shortly after Briscoe as well, so I think they were also down to only 1 sub.

Don't think he likes me at the minute anyway due to our disagreement over Turner.

| Happy overall but Widnes were down to 12 on the pitch when they scored all their points, so a bit sloppy (understandably) yes.

Defence is definitely much better, however at this stage we've only played 1 team who sit above us in the league so it's probably distorting things a bit. We'll have a better idea of things when we've played leeds, wigan, cats and hudds who are 4 of the best 5 attacking sides in the comp
