| Quote Mild Rover="Mild Rover"When board members at the city's two clubs (or other clubs for that matter) talk about the massive passion of the fans, this has obvious positive connotations - loyalty, etc. There is also, perhaps, a subtler indication that they tend to be overexcitable and get carried away, making their judgement suspect. Agar does now need a run of results and I suspect is on his last chance, but the board's decision to stick with him a little longer is not illogical. Either things'll pick up and the negativity will die down or a new coach will be appointed and a new cycle of optimism will begin.'"
From a business point of view, the Agar gravy-train has ended. That's why he should go. The fans turned on him Friday. That should have signalled the end. He no longer has the support, which means very few will be going anymore (edspite if we scrape a small win against Quins or Cas). They've lost all confidence that he is the man to take us places, and quite frankly have just lost all caring.
I just want him out so there's at least that false bit of hope that we could maybe turn things round under someone else. After Friday, 99% of the home fans have officially lost all hope, and that's where the money stops coming in. That's why I'm worried that the club could be on a downward spiral (if it wasn't already on one already).

| Quote Wellsy13="Wellsy13"Tough sh*t.
What right do the players have to complain if he goes? Absolutely none. If they don't want him to go, and think that he's a good coach, they should pull their fingers out of their *rses and get playing better!
If he gets sacked despite them thinking he's a good coach, it's their own God damn fault.
Not one player in a team with the calibre of talent we have at Hull and the resources we have, has a right to complain if we're this poor. If they want to go with him, they can do.'"
Spot on.

The other thing that puzzles me is the constant trickle of comment from people within the game (some of them pretty credible) that Agar is actually a good coach. Since we see no evidence of that on the pitch they are either all mistaken (unlikely) or something else is going on.
'"
I never understand why people place any store by this, the RL world is a pretty small close knit community and they all tend to stick up for their own. You'd get just as many people willing to tell you that Cullen and McNamara are great coaches.

you've seen him on the TV etc. I am sure, he doesn't strike me as being "well grommed", not that it would matter if we were at the top of SL of course.

| Would you like to see him in a pair of shades, thinking he's cool, (not) like the t0sspot in East Hull.
He's a rugby league coach for fooks sake and I'm sure he has at least one shower a day, , like the rest of us.

| I stopped going to games a while ago and get my rugby fix by watching the nrl. I have supported hull fc for a long long time and I thought that it was in my blood, but when they get beat it does not hurt like it used to. I honestly do not see myself going on a regular basis again. If we get a good coach and it starts to be entertaining on the pitch I may change my mind but at the moment I do not see the point in paying my entrance fee (better things to do with my money). Its not that I can go to see hull fc or I can do this that or the other money is not the problem I just do enjoy whats been served up.
I suppose I am just a fair weather supporter.

| Quote jampot="jampot"What is Agars salary compared to other coaches.'"
I don't think it's fair to put exact figures on an internet forum but, for the sake of comparison, i understand noble was earning nearly double what agar earns when he went to wigan. now they have michael mcguire it would be safe to assume he earns at least double what agars earns
but what i don't understand is this... If we assume agar earns 50-100k pa then why are the board so stingy that they won't pay somewhere in the region of 150k or even 200k for a top class coach. It doesn't take a genius to realise that the extra expense on quality will reap rewards in the short-medium term
weird
