Totally agree with the OP. Even in the first 20 mins when our pack was totally dominant he did nothing of any real note, apart from the pass he threw out straight into touch which was as bad as anything Craig Hall did last year and would have been crucified for. He was utterly non existent bar one crap kick that was far too long. The pass in the build up to our first try was a simple piece of play executed well. That's not enough. Another bad signing. He'll end up a good championship player.

The hype this kid came with wasn't his fault but living over on the wrong side of he hills, I can tell you without a doubt we got the wrong player from salford. Ratchford and Holdsworth are rated far better players and Salfors fans didn't bat an eye lid when he left.

It's a start. Better than the simple plays executed poorly that have become the norm.

I think Turner is a good athlete but not particularly skillful or creative, he may improve given time but I just cant see it. It's why I was a little dissapointed that Long wasn't taking charge more, particularly towards the end of sets, and allowing Turner to put kicks in etc.

That's because Long's kicking game has been sh[ui[/ut for about 3 years now.

It's hit and miss I agree but even his worst kicks tend to be better than most kicks Turner comes up with and as the senior player he should be dictating things.

Not sure about that tbh, even last year when he played it was Tansey that did most kicking. It's a reason i'm glad we've got Phelps and Obst.

Despite playing 10 less games than Tansey he put in exactly the same number of kicks last season.

I meant when in position to score, not necessarily kicking for territory.

They also put in the same number of attacking kicks. Tansey probably did most of his in the 10 games when Long wasn't playing.

Well i thought Turner played well at 6 on Sunday. Best i've seen him play there. Yes he gave a couple of murder balls and yes he ran Yeamo out of space a little bit (which leads to the murder balls) but that will come. We looked fairly lively when he had his hands on the ball. I wouldnt rush Horne back on the evidence of Sunday.
