I get the feeling we've been spekaing to players and coming to informal agreements which can't, of course, be formalised at this stage, only to be left out in teh cold when a better offer comes along. Big problem with the quota rules is that average British players suddenly get very expensive

Berrigan's not really delivered world class performances over the last 3 seasons, so I don't expect him to next season. Yes, there have been plenty of mitigating circumstances, mainly injuries to him and others. Yes, there have been far worse signings whilst I've been a supporter. Yes, things would have been even worse in 2008 and 2009 without him. But unless something startling happens next year, I'd imagine many will look at his big reputation when signed and £600,000 over four years and feel a bit disappointed. |

It's not even the money we've paid him, it's the fact we've seen nothing of the world class player he undoubtedly was/is, which has been a massive disappointment for me. Best option for both parties for me would be to release him from the final year of his contract and let him find a club in Oz where he can be in a more comfortable environment with his family |

Don't think he needs a pay off. With the shift in the exchange rates he could easily get a 2 or 3 year contract in Oz earning what we're paying him.
Replacement would be an issue but I'm more inclined to try and bring a quality player in and live with maybe washbrook covering hooker for a season |

Why is it? It's a reasonable strategy to let a player who is suffering some personal issues to move back to his own country whilst allowing us to use the money to strengthen a more important area of the team.
