Just how the hell do you get to full cap, when you have a squad full of academy lads coming through. There were jokes about Rovers having half the squad on £100,000 plus but the ones quoted are now worth it (Walker excused). Berrigan apart, who in the hell is worth 6 figures in your squad? And if they are getting paid it, they aint earning it and the board have seriously overpaid on some.
Are they that comfortable on the contracts they have?

Raynor, Tony, Manu, Crocker, Lauaki, Yeaman, Thackray, King all internationals at some point. Cusack will be on a fair wedge as well - was captain at Rabbitohs AFAIK. Berro and Crocker will be on well in excess of £100k I'd imagine.

one thing for sure is we need to rebuild starting with the half backs,i know horney has already signed for several years but we can move him to fullback.
we at hull have wanted decent halfbacks for years now but our board can,t see it probably along with a few speccies, horney not a creative halfback, good individual player.
we can forget top eight playing like this, what we need to do is rebuild get rid of the average players and we have 8 of them.

| Quote: Mrs Barista "Fair enough, you want Agar sacking. A couple of days ago people were wanting Matterson. Cas are losing by 32 points at half time today. The next coach needs to be a considered, long term appointment. Sack Agar now and we just get Sharp. What's the point?
We do need better players, BTW. Going into a season with no recognised right centre was beyond stupid.'"
The same point as sacking Sharp and appointing Agar or maybe sacking Kear and putting Agar in temporary charge. Shows that the club aren't willing to accept the poop that is currently going on there.
As for no right centre, doesn't seem to have effected Saints too much (not replaced Talau) or Leeds (only Senior is a recognised first team centre)

I completely agree with all that. People on here are saying they're withdrawing their support unless the board "do something". My point is that options for immediate action are very limited. If we sack Agar, there aren't better alternatives available right now.

But ultimately they are, because the replacement is no better than the original, it's just change for the sake of it. Let's say Agar is replaced with Jon Sharp. Is he the man to take us to the top 4? No, IMO. I'd rather negotiate for however long it takes to get a world class coach. Don't understand what paying off Agar to replace him with Sharp would achieve, other than possibly the brief improvement in results that a change in coach usually brings.

We put Sharp in temporary charge (for the rest of this season) and negotiate for a top coach in the mean time. This season as gone and keeping Agar here for longer than necessary will only damage the club further.

A nice plan, but Sharp turned down a job in Aus to come back to FC. Not sure that he'd want a caretaker coach role.

Once the new guy is on board he can then go back to his current role at the club, he won't lose out.

as I said, a better coach would get a better performance out of our current set of players
despite playing poorly we have not lost by many in every defeat except Saints, a better coach getting just a few % more out of every player would have won us those games.
in the short term (ie 2009) we need someone to get better performances from our current set of players because that is the best we can hope for (due to the players having contracts) but obviously in the medium term salary cap space becomes free.

Sharp would be no improvement over Agar. The only thing that sacking Agar would achieve is some satisfaction for pi$$ed off fans. It will be cheaper and better PR to keep the status quo while looking for a quality replacement.
The season's gone, and there's no relegation. Why run around like headless chickens?

there would be coaches available if word got round that FC were offering big money
we offered big money to Berrigan and Crocker and we got them signed up, quite why we don't do the same with the coach is beyond me, they are throwing their money away year after year if they don't get a coach capable of coaching the players effectively.
if they sack Agar and get Jon Sharp I for one aren't giving the club another penny, and i suspect many of our fans feel the same.

If you are paying them to sit on their ar$es why didnt the board put in a stipulation in the contract saying 'Visa conformation'. Its called covering all bases.

Rule confirmed they aren't paying them at the moment
but in terms of the salary cap I'm sure they will still count, as the RFL wouldn't allow us to sign anyone else in their place until we have confirmation they aren't coming.
