I dont think the Europa League is much of a money spinner.I can remember teams virtually giving away tickets for Thursday 6pm kick offs plus the travelling to far flung parts of Europe in midweek must have an impact on a teams performances in the league.

I really do hope City win the cup now, as forevermore will be engraved on the FA cup the name Hull CITY AFC.

HDM must be wrong because according to them.

Reads to me like City have to win or hope Arsenal finish top4 or they might mean if Arsenal win the cup and finish 5th City will have to go through qualifying rounds to get into the group stage. |

It's just the way that is written and you are interpreting it.
Yes if Arsenal get Champions league football then City will be guaranteed a Europa League spot. No doubt about that.
But for City not to get a spot Arsenal would have to finish 6th in Premier League and win the FA Cup. Both of which are still possible.
That is how i remember things anyway. |
