If you are not part of the solution then you are more likely part of the problem...: |

Disagree. Tonight a few kicks were charged down to poor execution putting Hull under more pressure near our own line. Wire throwing the ball around close to the Hull line takes more out of the team then them bringing it out of their own half.
Oddly enough Craig Hall probably had our best kicking game tonight.

| Was intrigued to hear Westwood claim in his post-match interview that they knew that Hull would tire. This despite Hulls strong ball control in the first half and playing four big interchange forwards.
Will be intersting to see what happens when the smaller Berrigan and Washbrook are shifted into the pack upon the return of Long and Horne and if your completion rate lowers.

Berrigans kick one minute before halftime was too early and didn't look like the rest of team knew it was going to happen.
He tried hard but we will play so much better once Long plays.'"
I don't know why he was trying the little chip over , We didn't have the players for that move in the middle of the pitch .

What's your point? That we'll get smashed by Leeds in 2 weeks and then in the play-offs because our fitness and squad selection is so poor and our completion rate tonight was a fluke? Just come out and say it if so. No need for all this subterfuge about intrigue and interest.

You don't think it's easier, both physically and mentally, to play the game in the opposition half than it is your own?
Quote: Jake the Peg "Surely a forward dominated game is likely to result in less errors than an expansive one'"
Yes, but when you try to move the ball and you haven't got the necessary brains to do it effectively, errors are bound to come.

With horne and long back alongside a firing berro , Fitz and so on all as fit as they are we have a real shout here, as i said tonight to RA if the wire are the team to beat then with the thought process of RH and SL back we could really damage this playoff series, believe it or not the lads are really upbeat tonight after that match , cos they know now they have the rosta to do it
quietly confident as well

I think he may have been alluding to the fact that Hull's halves didnt get the ball to our backs hence the workload for our pack increased! A problem hopefully rectified by the returning Long and Horne.
You need to imagine Hulls strong ball control in the pack with Longs guille in the backs.

Not true. It's been the core of our setup all season even when fully fit. It's precisely why we get torn to shreds out wide when teams move the ball quickly.
Overall, there were more positives than negatives tonight, but it's just so frustrating that we undermine all that we do well by letting ourselves down with basic issues. When Warrington got on top we just seemed to help them out by making very poor ground running straight into the square markers. It wasn't working but we stuck with it. Why?

We had know-one who could (or has the confidence regularly)to throw a decent ball out (eg Longy, Horney)....the people stepping into the h/backs roles do not have the confidence the likes of Longy or Horney have which they have gained over the years. So this creates an environment of safe rugby which due to the problems of the h/back situation we have been subjected to most of the season imo.
It is of paramount importance the h/back situation is addressed for next year, Agar recognises this bit h/backs are difficult to come by.

I'm not saying that's not true, I'm saying that we still play compact even when Long has been in the side. We've struggled out wide all year, regardless of who has/hasn't played, so putting it down to current injuries is hiding the issue somewhat.

| Took a sin-binning and a string of penalties to defeat you, nothing more.
You deserved at least a share of the spoils, it was similar to our game versus them.. even encounter untill the sin-binning and a couple of penalties to swing it.
Oh and was it Anderson who 'kneed' Reece Lyne in the first half? Can't stand stuff like that.

So they should be, for an hour we matched them and the sin bin changed the game, with our halves and Tansey back we have a shot, good to hear the players are ready and up for it.

I thought that Hull were the better team last night for the first half and you look a solid team but lets not forget that Warrington has Briers, Bridge, Carvell and Grix missing all of whom normally start. Briers in particular is a big miss whenever he does not play.If both teams were at full strength I can only see one winner. Your pack is more than competitive but I feel your backs are quite weak.

Where would Grix be starting? The fact we were missing both our half backs and Full Back and Winger oh and Centre kinda shows why were poor in the backs last night.

| Grix has been picked in a variety of positions but he's most at home in the back row. Has generally been selected ahead of Vanderson. Don't think it would have made a big difference if he had played, though. Wire have a lot of quality back rows this season.
