| We might not have a lot of wriggle room with quota spots for next season anyway as according to the HDM article it seems to say Cartwright and Stewart are signed up for this season and beyond unless I’m interpreting that wrong.
If so they replace Hoy and Brown, Asiata will replace Carlos so to bring in another quota player we’d have to pay off either Okunbor, Sau or Pele.

| Also there’s a lot of speculation already about our fullback situation and the players we have in that position. Does anyone actually know anything about Stewart? He’s not an NRL player so there’s not really any info on him, could he maybe been brought in to play centre, does he play there too?

| Hopefully we can get Okunbor off the books. Cartwright becomes a straight swap for Okunbor and then that opens up 1 more quota space for likely a overseas hooker.
Pele might be worth keeping if Cartwright can get him fitter because he looks a really destructive runner at times, just need to see it more often, and make him fit enough to deal with being moved around in defence.

Stewart plays in the Q Cup for Brisbane Tigers. I'm assuming that's where Cartwright has seen him play.
He had a train and trial at Melbourne in preseason and came through the ranks at St George

Looks good on highlights (yes I know), only seen him play on the wing and FB.
Been on the fringes at St George and has been playing in the QRL Cup, so Cartwright should know him well.

| I'd be surprised if we see Okunbor play for us again. Just been a very poor signing.
According to the rugby league project website Stewart played a few games on the wing in 2022 but is primarily a full back. Looks to have a good support game with 23 tries in 36 games for the Dragons' reserve grade.

I get why, but we are desperate for a quota centre and jokker unless we can sign a domestic player good enough for those positions.
Relatively strong at prop and easier to recruit domestically.
Two NRL clubs have also failed to get the best of of Pele.

| Quote: Dave K. "Not massively bothered about Satae, not sure we need another quota prop.
I'd still try and release Pele and go with Ese Ese, Sao, Ashworth, Fash, Aydin and maybe try for one more domestic prop. Gardiner, Laidlaw and Wainhouse as back up.
Sao, Ese Ese, Stewart, Asiata, Cartwright plus a hooker and centre.
Wonder if Whitehead or Bateman are still a possibility, gone quiet on these.'"
think we do need another front row unless the new coach thinks he can work with Pele
Cant see either Gardiner or laidlaw ever making the grade in S/L

| Starting to feel like too much chopping and changing, rather than focusing on bringing in real quality for the long term.
This season is done do we really think 2 loan signings will make any difference? The dressing room culture has been bad for years but I'm not convinced having new faces each week is going to improve the culture.

I think we do. If we continue with this shambles for the rest of the season it's going to put people off returning no matter who we sign.
Not getting flogged every week and winning the odd game (difficult) will at least give us a bit of hope going in to next year.

These aren't loan signings, think both are long term.

ideally yes, bur hooker and centre is more key than another prop IMO.
Centre we have Haddraker
Hooker Borough and Smith
Prop Sao, Ese, Fash, Aydin and Ashworth, can add in Staverley who I think will end up as a prop and Asiata could play there top. Chan would be ideal
