On the finances front doesn't look like Derby tickets are flying out the door, still plenty of seats left in the East stand.

Of course it's good luck we got a 2nd derby but I bet they planned for a few thousand more sales at the start of the season. A shock win at in form Salford might get some late buyers though!

Despise obvious cost cutting in recent years we’ve still had marquee players and still would have regardless of investment. We already had Trueman here, I’m also pretty sure Reynolds was on a marquee contract back in 21/22 and Clifford was offered marquee money to stay all way before the investment was rumoured. For the 2025 signings we must have as close to blank canvas as any club has ever had with players off contract, we were always going to bring in 10 plus players. Reynolds and Evans are big recent pay offs for the club and as for Smith, results and performances made it inevitable it was almost a farce.

FWIW I’m sure AP is confident of some investment coming in soon, and hopefully it steadies the ship financially but I think it will be relatively minor, especially against the expectations people have dreamed up in their minds about someone pumping in millions with little chance of a return.

Cartwright foot injury seemed.to come after a tackle.
He was running the ball in, offloaded as hevwas going down. When he got up, he stood on his foot and just looked in pain. Physio came on, seemed like he could run it off, couple of defensive tackles later, he went down again.
At half time, he was struggling across the pitch to the changing room, came out with ice strapped to his foot. After the game, as he was walking back to the changing room, he looks in a bad way.

I’m going to say it’s a positive that there are no real rumours knocking about re signings. clubs obviously worked on sorting the leaks out. frustrating as a fan but good for the club.

surely we have to see some movement soon as we have 3 open quota spots. whilst no one player makes a team, 3 top quota signings make a massive difference

Its the exact opposite isnt it? For whatever reason it’s obvious the ‘leaks’ are coming from the top with the clubs blessing, and it’s only a good thing that the club seemingly has a good relationship with journalists and by extension the fans. It’s always bad for fans when at various times the club has had spats with the HDM, Humberside or whoever.

As far as I’m aware the only signings the club have officially announced have been Abdull, Asiata and Borough and all those were leaked to the media weeks before. The club have still not announced Holmes, Hardaker, Cust or Chamberlain despite some of them been strategically leaked months ago.

Holmes cant even get into the Leigh starting 17,Hardaker is way passed his best and Chamberlain the only Leigh player not to have an official sponsor which speaks volumes about how he is rated.
Whatever way you want to spin it the recruitment for 2025 is poor and none of the main areas like centre or second row have been addressed.
The communication from the club continues to take fans for granted and this latest episode with Cartwright is just a joke
Its gone from Jet lag,to slight injury concern so we will give him an outing in the reserves to foot injury but not serious,to losing him for several weeks, and then the expected bombshell he wont play again this season

The Cartwright thing I think maybe the club just didn’t think it would be as serious as it is.

As for the signings I’m just hoping that the club are playing for time and waiting until the financial situation is better and have a few good signings lined up for when this happens, be it outside investment or we manage to pay off the Covid loans or whatever. I’m genuinely concerned for the club if we are getting battered week in and week out again next year, with what we’ve done so far I don’t see that changing.
