Quote: arliebird "tbh id leave yeamo on the left and gleeson on the right, yeamo and brisc are forming a great partnership which hopefully will be there for another 5+plus years. as for gleeson hes played most of his rugby on the right anyway so leave him to play there but for me id be tempted to play tickle at prop with westy at right secound row so that down that side you would have a great attacking force in westy and gleeson thoughts?'"

spot on , excellent idea, agree yeaman and brisc are looking like a GB partnership for the nations comp at present , if we can push up the table now swiftly we can almost guarantee that will be the case, also as you say Westy covering that side will sure it up lovely in defence , know where your going with ticks he is looking more like prop foder every year

i love tickle think the progression he has made siince coming has been brilliant but when you look at his game i think for the team he would be more suited to playing prop allowing westy to play full 80 on the right side playing alongside gleeson very good attackive ability there and then we would get more game time out of manu and lauaki who would rotate on the left backrow. 8.omeley 9. houghton 10.tickle 11.westy 12. manu 13. fitzgibbon

From what I have heard, and seen so far this season I can see at least 8 of the 11 players listed for us leaving.

Fitzgibbon - retire
Long - back to Lancashire
Horne - will turn down a 'reduced' contract
Washbrook - same as Horne
Lauaki - will sign for another SL club
Mike Burnett - will stay at Quins
Dowes - will be released
Phelps - will be replaced and released.

Could leave us very short next year, as there aren't that many quality players around to replace these 8....assuming they all go of course!

These would be the three I'd go all out for. Ratchford to start at 6, Lunt for back-up 7/9 and McNally as a long-term half-back option. Ratchford will have his pick of most of the league I reckon.

Lauaki, Dowes and Washy can be replaced internally, infact I'd start playing the under 20's forwards instead of Washy and Dowes, lauaki does Ok, but not good enough for a quota position.

Fitz has to be replaced by a top class prop, I wouldn't be disappointed if we kept him for another year, but not as a LF.

We desperately need a FB and 2 halfbacks, we will have 2 quota spots to play with so I would try and sign 2 quality NRL players, a halfback and a FB.

Try and sign an English stand off, Racthford, Bosc or Pryce.

Worst case scenario is that we keep Horne, and let Obst or the 2 young halfs battle for the other halfback position.

Must get a decent 7, who can pass, kick (long and short) and organise, he doesn't have to be a world beater put a younger fitter Adam Dykes type player. We also need a good attacking FB, but one that can catch and tackle, we haven't had a top allround Fb since Prescott.

A new coach is still the biggest key to our success.

Got a horrible feeling, with the signing of Gleeson, and one of his main reasons for coming here was to hook up again with his betting pal Longy they will offer the latter a 1 yr extension.

Another big worry is, the longer Agar is in charge this season, who is going to be looking at next yrs recruitment?
Ideal senario would be getting a new coach in ASPAP who can look at current squad and see where he needs to retain / recruit, not going to happen though. icon_evil.gif
