Why are we not targeting the important positions we need to cover?
We need at least one big fast strike centre.A halfback with some pace and second row.
We have a quality full back in Walker and whilst i can see some fans would like a new nine i think we can run with what we have in Smith,Balmforth and possibly Moy.
For me the key is what we do with Okunbor and Pele.
If this coach is a fitness fanatic then i would see what he can do with Pele next season.
Okunbor i would release and find another second row so that Sao can play front row row.
A crucial part of the recruitment is we have to find players with genuine pace as Ritchie Rich seems to have forgotten how important speed is in todays game and how slow some of our players are

| I don't think Leutele has been offered a contract extension at Leigh. I'd rather have him for a season that Lafai if we are going down the well over thirty route.

I'd prefer a younger centre, but I'd probably take either for a year, would have to be 2 for Lafai

I do agree with a fair bit of what you said, we need players with pace and I also am hopeful Cartwright can get Pele into good shape, because I think he would be worth keeping if he can.
But I disagree massively with your first point. Hooker is a serious concern for us that needs addressing with a top class
player. 9 is such a huge role in the modern game and this year shows for us how poor a team can be without any threat from 9. You can have fantastic half backs and players out wide but if your 9 is too slow to get good passes out to them then it gives defences a couple of seconds to get up off the mark and shut down any plays your halves were planning on running.
Personally I think we need to absolutely nail the signing of a number 9 almost as much as we do a half.

| Think Pele is too much of a risk, he hasn't managed to break through at 3 clubs now, I'm sure he has the desire ti get fix, should have done it when he had that 5 game ban.
Think his quota spot is too important to take a risk on.

Yep that's the other rumour, check the place out for his Dad.
Surley Walker goes if Stewert comes in, unless he could play centre.

| Saw first half of dobbins Leigh game.
Jez Littens passing and running were excellent. He really does make a difference to their attack.
Folk keep banging on about Balmforth but he’s nowhere near ready compared to the likes of litten.

As we made the decision on Jez years ago, it’s not really a comparison we need to make buddy, we must decide if we take this seasons opportunity of having a look at Denieve, with nothing to lose really, we can compare him against Danny, who is now in his last season, and give him a few games, obviously a few of our recent coaches have overlooked this chance, concentration issues was quoted by Grix I think, apologies if mistaken.
My take on a few of the games I’ve seen him, if he reminded me of anyone it was a young Kieran Cunningham, with the build to not only tackle, but to hurt in the tackle, and a short explosive burst of pace, I believe he will become a fine player in the most demanding of positions, and surely we must take this season to investigate his potential.
Incidentally Jez played on the wing for West Hull in his early days, he always had a good pair of hands, and a nice turn of pace.

When have you seen him play?
You cant say he is nowhere near ready on the basis of a couple of 20/30 mins run outs in the first team
He needs to be given a run of games

| Bonaire:
Our pack is pretty much much well beaten every game this season. I’ve seen enough of Balmforth to see that he would struggle behind a beaten pack.
The current squad is nowhere near good enough and that’s why Houghton is in there.
It’s not going to do the kids confidence any good getting run over.
Opposition teams will target him like they did Jack Charles.
He didn’t pull up trees at Newcastle so why would you expect him to in our current 1st team.
We’re a shambles this season and two of our biggest earners are playing championship level.
Grix, Myler, Cummins have all played SL level and know what it takes.
I used litten as a good example.
His running and distribution has improved so much since he left fc. He genuinely makes a difference to kr.
You can’t put young kids in week in week out against top level players.
Hopefully with a stronger squad next season we will see Balmforth, Charles etc develop into first team regulars.

I get your point, and you are correct Jack was targeted in his defence, as do most of the halves in the comp, physically these lads will mainly struggle its natural, but the game time opportunities Charles, Martin, Stavely, Moy, Barron, and a few others have had will be invaluable, and we are in an unusual position at present, no one gives us a hope of winning another game, and rightly so, so we kind of have a free hit.
I’d have Denive on the bench at the earliest opportunity, let Moy carry on as his debut and positioning was first class, Martin is another who didn’t let anyone down, we are perennially on the back foot of this there is no doubt, but this will turn around, perhaps next season and these lads will be ready and waiting for their next chance.
If the impossible does happen, and we manage to actually win another game, may I suggest a giant conga on the pitch is organised, which will surely annoy the like of Wells and Wilkin, and challenge the superb atmosphere of Craven Street.
