Don’t engage in a battle of wits. They’re clearly unarmed.

Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?: |

| Loved this epic game which marked the 75th anniversary of the first year I saw a derby. Great to watch it live on TV too- it finished here after 2 am. A tribute to both teams for the effort put into the game and for both sets of fans who created such a magnificent atmosphere.Wish I could have been there to experience the occasion. My sister and a host of other family members were there to make up for my absence!
Sad to see that Cyril Sykes had died as he was part of the greatest pack of forwards that I have ever seen play, put together by Roy Francis back in the 50's.
Only Johnny Whiteley left from that era.
RIP Cyril.

| The game has been going downhill slowly, and thanks to a very entertaining derby game on Saturday, it's certainly turned it back the other way a bit. Well done to both clubs. I really enjoyed it.

Thanks for your post as it good to hear neutrals view on the derby games, glad you enjoyed but not many of us will have enjoyed it due to the tension and for me it was more relief at the final hooter than anything until the Sunday

| Come on Chris how could you not of enjoyed that haha!! Was very tense, my lad and daughter loved it, said best game they've been too.
The trys getting disallowed were frustrating, but that's just the poor standard of officials were lumbered with. The game itself was brilliant, apart from a 15 min spell in the first half I thought we looked dangerous every time we attacked.
Huge 2 points and sets us up nicely for Cas, a depleted Leeds side who have injury to key players Hurrell, Gale, Oledski etc and a Wigan team I feel we can beat. Throw in Salford and Wakefield which will be gritty and I think we can do it.
Put Fash to loose forward with Lane, for Cator, same workrate in defense, and simar in go forward.
Reynolds I think may not be serious fingers crossed, if so Mcnamara in who was decent again at Catalans. Crucial we just get him receiving the ball off sneyd, committing a defender then releasing Connor to work his magic.
I noticed when Wynne came in for Connor we had trouble getting to replicate Connors attacking as in when to chime into the line, the young lads need to be stepping up and watching how the likes of reynolds and Connor do it.

Honestly RR I didn't enjoy it until Sunday when the relief gave way to the enjoyment. I think due to the tension and the way we weren't getting any of the decisions etc it was just relief I felt at the end. Having watched the game back on tv i then enjoyed it

| We simply cannot move Connor to 6, and Shaul to Full Back. That cannot happen!

Totally agree as the injection of Connor in the line was huge and he improves us so much as an attacking threat and he showed in the first 5 minutes just what we've missed while he's been injured. The link up play with Connor, Sneyd and Reynolds was pivotal in winning the derby.
I thought Shaul also made an impact when he came on and I'd like to see him spelling with Houghton on Thursday to inject pace down the middle when the Cas defensively line are tiring.
If Reynolds is missing then Ben McNamara comes in.

Definitely a roller-coaster of emotions hahaha!!! Felt brilliant walking out the ground, can't put a pricetag on those feelings.
