| Quote: Jake the Peg "Bit harsh on gentle as he is working with a poor set of players and has had horrendous injury problems to contend with. Personally, I don't really think anyone can say at this stage whether he's a good or a poor coach and we won't really get an idea until the back end of next year IMO.'"
Exactly. Far more important is Gentle/McRae's recruitment/retention policy going forward than this year's performances. And not just this season but the next two as well. Hull fans need 2-3 years of patience. Not easy but that's what's required.

I was basing my assessment on both players from my opinion of their play going back years not just the last few weeks.

| Quote: pmarrow "I've said it all season, anybody who thought we were going to transform from what we were to a top team clearly show a lack of understanding and respect to sport. Richard Agar was not the only problem at Hull, a lot of these players are too and the bottom line is they just are not good enough and some of them are not good enough for Super League IMO. As the saying goes, you can't polish a turd.
2013 was always going to be the best chance for Gentle and Pearson to start going in the right direction, that is plainly obvious with the turnaround in staff and players roster.
I am also starting to get annoyed with people saying the club are going against there word on signing England youth players when clearly they are doing the opposite. New training facilities have being invested in, contracts have being given to younger players and we have signed a few England knights players from other clubs. The club have also shelled out an alleged 40k to send a young promising 15 year old to a school in Australia to learn the "aussie way". This is the same school the likes of Rangi Chase and Benji Marshall came from.
Sure I expected us to be in a better position by now but at the same time I am not surprised we are not either. As I realize it is going to take time for us to transform and whilst they are many more fans who see the same the majority ultimately do not. Which is annoying because now we have a chance to become something big and these same fans just keep injecting negativity into the club as soon as its gone out of it.
ATEOD didn't expect a win tonight and no shame in losing to Les Cats at there home ground.'"

| Seymour is adequate, but we don't have another HB, we don't have a full back of any quality and we are lacking quality all over the squad(especially in the pack).
PG and AP have got a ton of recruitment to do and AP is probably going to be very disappointed with pass sales again, unless we sign a hell of a lot of quality players.

I think AP is astute and has a three year plan to turn the club around not a one year plan. You're right it will take that long but he knows that and knew it from day one.

| You would of thought by this point in the season that the attitude and effort of the side would have improved from previous seasons even if the actual skill and ability to make things work hadnt as that would of been down to the quality of the personnel but the attitude and effort hasnt, its actually gone backwards. We look devoid of energy, attitude, a clue, in fact most things that you would expect from a professional rugby side. Theere isnt an ethos flowing through the club, there doesnt seem to be anything going on with the players that makes you think were heading in the right direction. We are beyond poor and even with an influx of new players then how will the fundamentals like effort suddenly improve when theres no sign of them now? We could sign eight internationals and i honestly dont think things would improve. There is something not right and in the absence of any evidence of what it could be then im sorry but i have to lay that blaim at the coaching team of which Peter Gentle is at the helm.

| Gentle said ' Men v Boys'
I have looked at our pack and I am not sure Gentle would have described that pack as boys when we were winning
Thankfully AP will give Peter next season to proiduce Top 4 , and that is it , AP has that in him at least , unlike the other board of Clowns/Agar. IF Wire do win the CC then they will have won it as many times in 5 years as we have in 150 years because of TONY SMITH and a very astute appointment by their wealthy ambitious chairman - hint hint

| Far too early to judge Gentle, next season is the time to judge.

| Quote: Knockerandy "Don't post much but having watched Leeds Rhinos take Wigan apart today, one thing I do know is the Leeds squad have no big salary players, they are all well paid but all play for each other not for the salary...big mistake at Hull FC to get Ellis on big salary, that was the turning point of our season'"
As a matter of interest, how much is Ellis going to be on next year?
Do you really think Leeds players only play well "for each other" rather than earning a crust to pay bills? If you really think there are no big earners at leeds you are wrong.
Hulls main problem, apart from over exaggerating fans, is there has been an acceptance of rank ordinariness for years. Unfortunately some players are so ingrained into the first team that their culture of ordinariness (attitude, ego, arrogance) ends up rubbing off on new recruits.
Take Mark O'Meley as an example. At the back end of last season and for much of this year his attitude has been poor (allegedly ). Now why would a player of his stature and experience develop such an attitude? Perhaps because he see's those who have been here for years thinking they are gods
gift when in reality their careers have been in the slow lane for years.
I think it's agreed that Rich Horne is not effective as a half. I think there needs to be a realisation that they likes of Yeaman are not good enough (and haven't been for a number of years) for the club to progress. I find it hard to understand just why the club paid a fee for Westerman.
To blame Gentle is short sighted in my opinion, he is working with a group of players as a collective which has a poor attitude. Until he can weed out this issue we are not going to compete.
Oh, finally, we must be the slowest SL team. Not just for the pace of our players, but at the ptb.
Unfortunately to sort out these issues it takes years rather than months.

| Quote: Mrs Barista "I don't disagree that Catalans are a very good team, but we let them play on their terms. Scott Dureau played in a dinner jacket, we failed to challenge the kicker. There was one play about 13 minutes from the end where everyone sauntered about to form the scrum and Catalans were set first, not that they were rushing. Poor attitude to show the travelling fans IMO. The weather was no excuse today, was hotter when we played at Wakefield.'"
Typical woman, nag, nag, nag.
We heard you the first time Mrs B

I know we've brought Radford out of retirement this season, but according to the BBC website Lee Crooks scored a try for us last night. If only.... get yer boots on Lee, we need you!

Seems unlikely, as I don't think that AP is either an idiot or a raving loon.

| They were very good, but we were awful we let them play the ball two fast and you can't let them score try's when we have the ball.
Seymour made a couple shocking errors but still looked the only pivot to create anything.
Mcgoldrick is awful, I would be happy if he never played for hull again, Russell is a miles better player and would rather play another youngsters than him.
You will never win a game against a good side with only one prop.
Some players arent good enough like Horne, turner, Pitts, aspinwall and mcgoldrick. Others need to up thier game like westerman.
Lots of work to do this and next season for AP And PG.
On the positive side I though Cunningham and Green did well, both showed some very aggressive defence.
