Quote: fc baldy "And i think they will......we always seem to bounce back well after a poor performance and just easing Horne back in will be a big boost to us and maybe with another player back,we can kick on.That is 1 out of the 4 that Gentle has ear-marked as vital to our top 4 hopes.'"

Gentle has some big calls to make with the team selection (a nice headache to have for once!) such as Russell sounded lively again today, and if he brings Horne back in at 6 it means Whiting has to move to 13, second row or the bench...and Westerman also has to fit back in somewhere in the 17. Tony Martin is also potentially back, to give a decision of youth or experience between him and Crooks.

Horne to 6...Martin back in,Whiting to 13 with Westerman on bench...gives us a hell of a attacking bench

I think Gentle should go with experience for the time being.
After today's performance I think we need an experienced team out next week to try and steady to ship and bounce back.

I'd be tempted to go with Horne at 1, Martin at 3, Whiting at 6 and Westerman at 13. I can see the arguments for keeping Russell at 1 and playing Horne at 6 though. Nice to have options.

Leave out our best player today who caused problems all over Didn't go today, but as Russell is unlikely to be staying after the Rovers game, there is a case for saying that we should go with the combinations that we'll be using for the rest of the season. As I quite clearly stated, I can see positives in either option.

I'm fairly confident we will keep Russell for the rest of the season, so I would go with Horney in the halves. Martin/Crooks and Westy/Whiting are the hardest choices. Whiting has done well coming off the bench, so I think I would start with Westy. Not sure on Crooks or Martin yet. A bench of O'Carroll, Whiting, Pitts and Aspy is very strong indeed.

I'd go with something like

Russell, Sharp, Martin, Turner, Briscoe, Horne, Seymour, Lynch, Houghton, Moa, Manu, Tickle, Whiting,
Bench: O'Carroll, Westerman, Aspinwall/Pitts/Ellis (a combination of the last 3 for the 2 remaining bench spots).

There's not much up front on that bench, missing omeley for when Moa is off the pitch

O'Carroll has been better than O'Meley this season, in my opinion. Aspinwall is solid as an interchange prop, too.

I don't agree. If you've got the Leeds game still on sky+, watch the momentum switch when omeley replaces ocarroll in the last twenty. They were all over us, we couldn't stop them going forward and we were getting nowhere. As soon as omeley returned the whole thing switched. I like ocarroll, but omeleys gonna be hard to replace

There were many reasons for the shift in momentum in the Leeds game. And I'm talking about the season as a whole, rather than just one game.

As was I, it just so happened the example I chose to back up my point occurred in the Leeds game. Is that okay with you?
