Quote: ccs "Last said that 4 or 5 from the last game wouldn't have played, add to that as many as 8 unwell plus Taylor and Masi still injured, not many left to choose from.

I wonder if Bienek and Scott have had their loan deals with Leigh sorted out?

Ellis is the only one to confirm he tested negative, so there's one on the team sheet, hopefully a few more to follow.'"

The Leigh situation must be something to do with money.
I cant see Leigh not been prepared to release the players for the rest of the season particularly as they are obviously paying the players and they are not going to play for Leigh.
Its a shame for both players because Bienek would most probably have been in the 17 this weekend given our shortage of front rows and Scott would have been ahead of Buchanan who is leaving anyway.

Personally, i'd have chosen Wynne ahead of Shaul...'"

Maybe Wynne couldn't be selected.

Quote: Chris71 "I'd go with Swift in place of Ratu and Johnstone in for Houghton and leave Fonua out. I'd maybe like to see Buchanan & Patterson-Lund on the bench then move Griffin to spell second row for his size and power and bring Buchanan in at centre.

Without Taylor, Sao, Jones, Bowden, Savelio & Matongo we have lacking a serious amount of size and experience down the middle so its going to be a tough ask.'"

Maye without the size we rely more on being technically better both in defence and attack, move the ball around so that we take advantage of having players that can go longer due to not being bigger.
Of course it's going to be tough, there are no easy games, however some have already doubted the value of Jones, Matongo and Bowden several times already.
It'll be good to see if players are going to step up to the mark, see if Last can change the tactics without the biff bang wallop style players.
Just hoping we can grab a win by hook or by crook, the team/club needs a win and the fans desperately do too, anything to lift the mood.

Quote: ccs "At least we're not the 5th game to be played on the same pitch in just over 24 hours.

Good job it's still summer.'"

It's the same for both sides though so it's not really that much of a bid deal, and if we are using more mobile/smaller sized players, forced upon Last or not, might that not work to our advantage?

Last has already said we're not 100% fit, 3 weeks training followed by 2 weeks isolation, followed by a few days "training" and then match day on a heavy pitch. After 7 weeks uninterrupted training I reckon Huddersfield can't wait.

Odd how LR got criticised for using the "big forwards, down the middle approach" but when they're missing we hear "pack too light, bench too small, front row is very weak....."

On my 5th of 13th live games this weekend NRL/SL.
Good to see Ogre on the touchline at Tamworth this morning as part of the NZW coaching set-up.
I've backed us at 2/1 for tomorrow's game. More through loyalty than any sense of conviction.

I'm hopeful Last will have used the coronavirus break to draw a line under the Salford debacle and told the lads to start with a clean psychological slate.

I think he'll have them fired up and we'll come out firing on all cylinders. This, coupled with Hudds missing key players, should be enough to see us winning by 6-12 points hopefully.

He looked pretty good and very happy at the Warriors win. I only saw him play for Hull once back in 2010 when he played in a memorable match for me against St. Helens in Hull when we came back from a 20 point deficit in the second half to win by a drop goal in the last couple of minutes.
It was the first home match I had attended to watch Hull play since I left England in 1966. Have never been back to Hull since..

Am also on track to view all the 13 matches and will watch live the Saints/HKR game and put the other 2 SL overnight games on record to view early tomorrow.

That was the game James Roby came off second best against Ogre if memory serves.

Roby played at lock with Cunningham as hooker. Front row of Fitzgibbon Houghton O'Meley with Long at halfback and Danny Tickle kicking the winning drop goal with a St Helens winger scoring 3 tries. As you say a wonderful match for what turned out to be my swansong of Hull visits,

Went with my sister/brother-in-law and niece who are long time season ticket holders and was sent a DVD of the match as an Xmas present that year.
