Rose was sin binned, which was the first sinbinning at Wembley. Terry Hudson was sinbinned later in the game for a foul on David Topliss (as mentioned he had previously been involved in the incident that led to Kevin Harkin being carried off).

Beat me to it...Hudson kicked Harkin in the head, anyway, worst days for me was the Walsh/Lloyd and various idiots as C.E.O era and nearly going out of buisness. They was the worst days ever but we was saved by Barry Lilleys astute thinking.

1999 was a nightmare season. We only won five games all year and at one point had played eighteen and won just one. I particularly remember us chucking away a home game to Sheffield on the Easter Monday and being hammered at home by Cas and London.

| I was gutted in 83, genuinely thought we would do the business at Wembley. Just an awful game, so disappointing.

| 83 was bad. David Hobbs scored right in front of us. I was probably too young to fully appreciate what an opportunity we'd missed though.
The Lloyd era was worse though. The bad feeling just seemed to accumulate. At least when you lose a CC final you know you're good enough to get there, but in the late 90s things were just desperate week in week out

| The fact that not 1 poster mentions 1980 as one of the worst days as a fan speaks volumes.
Maybe it's just too painful to even mention it.

Nope, that was terrible but aside from the local rivalry it was at least against a club who had been Champions the year before.
In 1983 we were Cup holders, had won the league just weeks before and won fifteen of the previous sixteen games. It seemed inconceivable that we'd lose to Featherstone who finished 12th in the sixteen league.
The one that got away

Also that it's not within living memory for half of supporters. I started going in 1990, so being a full decade beforehand it's not relevant for me, for example.
The 21-22 v Wigan was gutting as we'd been so good in the first half, unexpectedly dominant. Worst times for me were the pre merger days when it looked like there'd be no FC to follow.

Because losing to a decent rovers side was nowhere near as bad as losing to fev. It was the equivalent of me beating mo farah in a 10k race

I think it just shows that how we see each other and how we see ourselves is often at variance. Hull trolls are generally more tedious than anything else, because they miss our point of view - I assume the reverse is true.
A troll with genuine empathy - that would be sharp edged. Probably an oxymoron though.

| Plenty of bad days re. results on the pitch.
Most "Magic" weekend results, most Wembley results and, rather sadly, most recent Derby results.
However, for dark days, they don't get much darker for me than March 26th, 2000 at the McAlpine Stadium.
