That's a pretty weak attempt at rebuttal. I was at the game. Still waiting to hear what would happen if you sat in the south stand.

| The other factor could also be the fact that it was a Sunday match. Personally i prefare friday night matches to sunday afternoon matches, but i was still there. The weather had to be the main factor in the poor attendance for a game that attracked 16,121 last season. Its only the first game of the season, so dont worry about our attendances or finaces.

| Just to put it in perspective, the only attendances we got last season higher than Sunday's were the derby and the final game against Warrington.
It was also not a world away from some attendances Leeds Rhinos got last year who had won three back to back Grand Finals in recent years. Their core 'home' support was around 13,000, not forgetting that massive play off attendance against us of 9,075.

I would suggest nothing atall, Infact I'm certian nothing atall, having had friends that support Wigan, Cas, Leeds, ROvers and Saints sit beside me in the stands at the KC during their resepctive away fixtures.

| Every single derby I've been to at the KC I've seen Rovers fans mixed in with Hull fans, I've also seen people in Hull shirts (not many but getting a ticket would have been a challenge) in the East at CP.
I've yet to hear of or witness a vicious beating or lynching.

| I was actually disappointed with the crowd, considering Wire brought around 1000 I expected us to get near to 14k. Weather probably played a part and we are still recovering from the KH/Agar fallout in terms of fans attitudes.

| I travel to home games by car from West Yorkshire. When I looked outside on Sunday morning I didn't fancy the journey. The combination of being a tight Yorkshireman, and the withdrawal of the voucher exchange scheme was enough to make up my mind, and I made the trip - and I'm glad I did
The roads were very dodgey both ways, with ice and freezing fog (down to -5 going back), and I can understand why some stayed away. Apparently there was an 8 car pile-up on the A63, and cars were diverted towards Howden on ungritted minor roads to avoid it. Roll on summer rugby!

I came over from South Yorks and the waether and roads were OK until the Ouse, when there was freezing fog all the way to Brough. Seemed OK after that though. Going home later we avoided the M62 and went across the bridge and along the M180 in -6 and freezing fog again. Not ideal but I'm glad we made the effort. Can understand why some didn't and credit to Wire for coming in such numbers despite the conditions.

I can see it now...
Leeds owl in hospital bed: Doctor was the operation a success?
Doctor: Yes dont worry after about a month you may feel a weird sensation in your back area, that will be your backbone growing ...
Leeds owl: do I have to come back for physio??
Doctor : no sorry we have thousands of other Rhinos fans all needing to grow backbones I am afraid and then we have years of triple personality bypasses to do on the remainder.
Leeds Owl: Doctor i also need to discuss this arsse transplant i had last year.....
Doctor: Yes I know the arsse we grafted onto you has rejected you i know , lets get you a backbone first laddie.

| Travelled up from Sussex and boy am I glad I did. Fog patches going home and of course the M62 closure. But whilst I wouldn't be doing every week on this occassion despite the weather I am so glad I did.
I was sat in the West stand and i have to say the East stand didn't look overly full. 12500 I think was about right.
Down on last years game but I am sure there was a large number of vouchers from season passes used on that occassion.
I suspect a good few were put off by the weather and probably the prosepect of yet another false dawn. I am sure they regret that now but who could blame them. They will be back providing the performances remain at that level.
