You admitted you prefer Sharp to Whiting. You also admitted that the pass looked poor but then shifted the blame on to Whiting for being out of position. Would you have done the same had Sharp dropped the ball and had been standing in the same position? I'm pretty sure you'd have agreed it was a poor pass and just left it at that.

I would direct the blame at whoever i thought was to blame.. If it was a poor pass, a poor carry, a poor catch or a player out of position i would try a fair explanation as to what i felt was wrong... Not everyone will have the same opinion but i won't start a thread campaign against Will Sharp or any other player for every single error. People often forget the good things he does aswell.
Obviously, like everyone else, i'm a big fan of Tommy Briscoe but he has been our worst player consistently for the last 3 games IMO but people still found it necessary to put the sole blame for the Hudds defeat at Sharp's door. It's laughable....

| I'm a huge Whiting fan and am also of the opinion he will have more good games then he will bad. However for the life of me I don't understand why we would have one of our slowest backs on the wing!

| Quote: ash4hullfc "That's fair enough and I tend to agree with what you're saying, just not in this instance regarding Whiting. To pick him out for criticism after yesterday is daft as he was nowhere near being our worst player and to highlight a certain part of his performance as poor when it wasn't even his fault reeks of having an agenda.'"
I could give plenty of instances with Whiting, Briscoe and Sharp in the last 6 matches but my point is it's only Sharp that gets thread after thread skating his performance. That's the trouble with forums fans always want a scapegoat. Every year someoone always get over the top criticism.
I prefer Whiting at centre/fullback but prefer Sharp on the wing. That said Whiting can be a safe pair of hands on the wing like in the last derby. I just don't think all players get treated the same and some go under the radar with their mistakes when compared to others.

He did the classic in-out motion but Welham had him well scouted.'"
Spot on. Briscoe could well have scored if he had blinkers on but he saw Welham bearing down and blinked.

| Whiting was below par, but he's a new father and who knows how much sleep he's getting. He probably shouldn't have played.
Still think if he was to play he should have been played at FB, with Sharp on the wing. I'm yet to see a game we've done well in with Horne at FB.

| When briscoe's contract is up most of the teams in Oz and here will be after him as well as probably RU. The same can't be said about whiting and sharp. I can't believe people start threads like this, it's embarrassing

Sean Long has been one of the best scrum halves this country has EVER produced but he still gets some flack from some on here!!
