yes,we have established that about four pages ago !
Beaver reckons he made the line with about a half inch to spare before hitting the corner post...he managed to jetison the zimmer frame on the 20 line which completely confused the young upstart

Beaver is the nickname of Menzies
Tom is not a 'fanny' - he's a fine young player who has obviously had a massive rollicking from Agar following the Catalans game (not only the Menzies thing but he had a poor game generally IMO) and is now playing brilliantly and good luck to him.
Who the **** is General Zod ?
I am nearly 57 unfortunately and have followed both Saints,Spurs & Essex CCC since I was knee-high to a slug.
spent most of my life in france
that just about answers everything I think ?'"
I [iwas[/i ignorant of Menzie's nickname. General Zod is an infamous Briscoe-dissing supporter of the other club in Hull. He is one of the very few people who actually seem not to rate him, so when you appeared to be of like mind I did wonder...
Tom maybe had a not-so-good game in France. As the only commentary we got in Hull was via mobile phone from our not-very-lucid local radio commentators it was hard to judge. He also had a shocker against Wakey, but these two matches do buck the general trend of "good" to "excellent" performances from Tom.
As you are A) not Zod, and B) do not think Tom is a fanny I can well believe you are 57. And I'm very jealous of you living in France.
Apologies for any misconceptions. I do have a horrid habit of jumping to conclusions.

Correct. Was at the game, Menzies probably had a 20 metre start and Briscoe did well to get anywhere near him, and was only a cats c@ck hair from taking him out at the flag. That said Briscoe had a poor game as did all the team in France (great weekend on the pop though ), and at age 37 it was a vey impressive effort from Menzies how ran rings round us during the time he was on the pitch.

Just watched Boots 'n' All and in his summation of the Menzies try, he said it was a great try, not just for the run by Menzies, but also the chase by Briscoe.
And to be fair that try must of been given with 'benefit of the doubt', because from the camera angle, there was no way it was deffo a try!

Toms positioning was spot on. Fox was away and destined to score. The fact that Briscoe never gave up the chase (many other players do !!!) shows the lads desire to succeed. He is a different class and deserves every last clap of our hands. And the best is yet to come i reckon!

no,it wasn't BOD - I asked Menzies after the game and says he made the try with a half inch to spare before hitting the corner flag.He seems an honest enough guy to me.

no problems mate - Tom is a fine player and will get even better if he stays injury free - the world is really his oyster.
Scott Dureaus' first couple of games wre shocking but he's now getting to grips with SL - on the other hand Ben Farrar settled in brilliantly right from the start and is getting better.
'funny old game' as Greavsie says
