| Quote: Mrs Barista "What? I'm crying on the outside you numpty. No concealing it or half-@rsed pretending it's all good. We were in for a top quality 7. This in itself is good. The fact he's turned us down is incredibly disappointing. I've urged caution until the deal was done, but can't deny how much I'd been hoping he'd come. Gutted. Gutted. Gutted.'"
My bad. I don't do it either, my disapointment is right out there along with anger, frustration, elation (well, I think so, it's been a long time) and other extremes which make life worth living.
Anyway, still 3 months to hunt down a No.7, loads of time.

| Although it doesn't seem like it now, but this is probably a good move, it's pretty obvious that he really didn't want to come to SL and was only doing it as a last resort, I feel that he wouldn't have settled and maybe left mid contract like Mckinnon.
Really feel for AP and Gentle after the time and money they have invested in prince, to be let down at the last minute, it looks like his agent has played a very good game.
Lets hope Gentle made a few other inquiries when he was there, not looking good though in the search for another halfback.

| Quote: swissfan "hey don't be too gutted we are not the first SL club to be used by aussie players/agents to get better deals on table !
shame we spent a lot of time and money talking to prince for month or so and flying out to see him - PG/AP/SM will be annoyed at wasted effort but not massively surprised at being gazumped by OZ club - they will move on with another plan.
interesting tactic using our 3 year offer to negotiate your way through a settlement on last year pay off then being released on effectively a free transfer and oz clubs having enough money at last minute to snap him up before boarding plane to hull !!!....... all under a massively better salary cap ! .. AP right we have no real chance to get quality aussie players under current circumstances.
to be honest I am not sure he is cut out to thrive at hull after his whole life in a warm beach climate and I would have to question whether he would have been committed -- maybe I am completely wrong and he will sign up today !
dissappointed but not surprised at outcome.'"
What you said fella. All the agents are creeps and a thorn in the side of sport in general. Only in it for themselves. At the end, we can't compete with Aussie cap and in this case, they new that. Just like someone gazumping you in a house move - it stinks, but we start again - it's great to be a Hull fan eh !

| Can't say I'm surprised. But then I'm a pessimist.
Seymour and Holdsworth it is then.

| Disappointed, peed off but certainly not surprised.... One thing im sure of tho is that I bet AP and PG did everything they could to get him signed up.
It seems the pot is well and truly empty of halfback choices now... time to get used to the fact that Seymour/Heremia/Horne will be playing at 6 or 7.... heaven help us if Holdsworth ever misses any games.

| If, when we signed Holdsworth, had just said we go with got we've got now, I wouldn't have had a problem. My worry is how will Seymour respond to effectively been told he's not good enough. I just hope that he has actually been treated a bit better than the media have suggested.
Besides all the press stories so far have been pure speculation and rumour. Who's to say this isn't just more of it?

I don't reckon Seymour will get the nod even if we don't sign another scrum half. I reckon Heremia will start ahead of him and probaly Mcgoldrick should he be resigned. Seymour was getting bench at the back end of the season when we had enough players available, he's not in Gentles thoughts imo.

If we're gonna start with Heremaia in the halves I reckon we'll finish around 6th again.

| All doom and gloom cheer up everyone in Gentle we trust. Bring McGoldrick back for a season to help out Seymour and Horne to cover Holdsworth and get some in next season(2013).

| McGoldrick may well get a contract as cover in the halves. Also cap room for Aspinwall.

| We'd better hope that Seymour hasn't signed on the dotted line then.
