| Quote: Wellsy13 "Possibly the most one-sided officiating I've ever seen. Forward passes that weren't. Offsides that weren't. Passes off the floor that weren't. Pushing after being taken out worse than the original offence. Knock ons that were backwards. And then the inconsistency of giving penalties. From the moment the ref bottled binning Ablett (think it was him) for a professional foul (holding back one of our players on the break), I knew it was gonna be a joke.
All I can say is defensively, to only concede 3 tries against a Leeds team with all that possession near our line and most of it from dubious refereeing decisions was remarkable. In attack, we were gash, but we had to chase the game from stupid positions in wet conditions so it was always going to be a tall order.
That game has just put me right off going to any more Leeds away games. He was even wearing the same colour.'"

This would be the first choice halfbacks who include someone who is pretty much universally agreed not to be good enough for a top side, would it?

What do you expect the club to say at the start of the season? "We are aiming for 8th"?

You really do have some fundamental comprehension difficulties, don't you?

Unbelievable. I have said this to the wife earlier. I have supported Hull Fc and Rugby League for over 35 years, through thick and thin and never have I felt so detached from the game as whole.

Think you sum it up just the way it was,we need somebody who can take us forward on the field,a leader.

| Quote: Jake the Peg "Moving a couple of players around and playing a few fringe ones really doesn't alter the simple facts that we should be reasonably organised, particularly with the fact that we had our 1st choice half backs and hooker. it doesn't stop seasoned pros playing with some aggression and enthusiasm, nor does it stop players supporting the ball carrier, making dummy runs or chasing kicks down effectively. You can make all the excuses you want but the facts are that the team is far from being as effective as it should be'"
Hang on a minute. You're simultaneously saying that we should have been better because the players have been training together for months, AND because we had our 3 first choice playmakers, 2 of whom have spent less time training with the squad than most.
I'm not saying you aren't right that our basics should be better, but your reasoning contained a glaring inconsistency there.

| Don't really understand the attitude comments. Thought there was plenty of effort, like Gentle said we defended pretty well, we're just not good enough and don't have the depth that a top team needs.
I'm confident Gentle is a good coach and our owner won't stop until we're challenging the top.

I would prefer an honest assessment and the club just basically say how it is. Every year we hear the same old 5hit in the hope they sell lots of passes but I would respect a more honest assessment. It would earn more respect in my opinion and probably win more supporters if the club just said it as it was.

Can you imagine the outcry on here if at the start of this season Pearson or Gentle said we would struggle to make the play offs?

I don't know whether its because its another season of change, the fact we just seem to have effort but nothing else, another season of garbage officiating or not. I generally feel the sport as a whole is going on a downward slide and just doesnt fill me with excitement anymore. I used to look forward to the weekend, 2 games on the TV and us either home or away but now if I'm honest i really dont feel I can be bothered anymore.

| Quote: Jake the Peg "I doubt that gentle has been the driver in recruiting players from SL. How may games do you think he's seen arundell and crookes play?'"
I have no idea how much he's seen. But I would say that if he hasn't seen much then it's a huge problem. It's a plain and simple fact that most recruitment needs to come from this country, so I'd expect him to be doing as much research as possible and watching plenty of DVDs to learn about the players around SL pretty f**king quickly.
I really don't understand why so many Hull fans seem to have a problem with ever accepting that a situation is actually as it is described, it seems that there always have to be claims that something sinister is going on.

But your argument is we have players either playing out of position or who are new to the team.
Tonight we had
3 of our 3/4#s who have been playing together for 3 seasons
Our 1st choice half back combo
2 of our 1st choice back rowers
2 of our 1st choice front rowers
Now I don't expect us to be at our best with the players we had missing, however it isn;t an excuse for the disorganisation and lack of dummy runners and support play we saw tonight, and which has been evident for some weeks now
