| Quote Kosh="Kosh"Mrs B said something similar. I haven't seen anything but then I don't follow every player and I don't spend that much time on Twitter.
If it was a specific reaction to something that happened on Twitter he should have made that clear. As it happens he's unnecessarily pi$$ed off a number of fans who weren't able to go to the game today, even though they weren't the intended target. This is why it's never advisable for a coach to have a pop at fans, no matter how justified he might feel.'"
But why can't people comprehend what he actually said? Some of the reactions i've seen have been embarrassing, on here and on social media.

Whats embarrassing is that Radford has allowed his ego to dictate the interview where he should be concerned about raising the morale around the club and its supporters. If he is not careful he can create an us and them type atmosphere which will do no good to anyone on either party.
He should enjoy the win and no matter what was put before us, we still had to beat it and most of us still had it down as a loss before the game.
Radford is a professional and should act like one, thank the supporters who traveled and leave it at that. It is somebody elses job to deal with twitter warriors although as I only use twitter on game days I rarely see the stuff that goes on.
Nothing good has come of the comments he has made thats why I think it is very unnecessary for him to go beyond those who traveled today.

| I think many are missing the point ,yes we are all entitled to our opinion and when players dont perform then they are going to get some flack , I cannot say I have not had a dig at players when they have not performed i have, but some of the stuff said about players is way beyond an opinion. Radford has questioned players he did it after the Derby and rightly so its his job, yesterday he got a response and thats what IMO has upset certain fans ..we won.It shows that when so called Fc fans are making excuses up for Saints for the defeat. Some on here have questioned Radfords passion for the Club and when he shows his passion he gets slated. Some of the comments mad about players on social media is disgraceful and when so called fans spit at players families and they have too understand why Radford said what he said, and for what its worth i think he was spot on

Because if you knew nothing about what apparently happened on Twitter - and the vast majority wouldn't - then it was far from clear who he was taking a pop at. The way he phrased it could easily be misinterpreted as having a go at fans who didn't travel to every away game. Which, once again, is why it's best for coaches to just stay away from this kind of comment.
The irony is that some of the people Radford was having a go at were quite likely at the game and the subject of his unalloyed praise a moment earlier.

| I think he meant the sort of "supporter" who who hides behind a keyboard and labels him "a turd" on internet message boards.

If you listen to what he said his emphasis isn't about himself. It's defending the team's work ethic against recent criticism, saying he's pleased for the chairman and those fans who did a 220 mile round trip after a really disappointing Derby defeat at home. I didn't get the impression it was all about him. Just my take on it.

Actually that's not true at all. While I don't agree with his comments they were a very small part of an interview that was all about the players and the travelling fans, not about Radford. His passion certainly shone through.

IMO radford has a lot of faults, but I agree with your take on this and what I thought was that, despite these issues he may have (and public speaking is one!) he really did care. That meant something to me, he could not hide his emotion.

| i like Radford more after hearing the interview. Two threads now running about what he said is a little OTT. Some very sensitive souls about.
