Just for the sake of clarity...
The discussion at that point was regarding the signing of Sam Moa and what king of guy he was. As an illustration Agar mentioned that after Sam had verbally agreed to sign with us, the coach of another club came in and tried to gazump us with a higher offer. Sam refused. The other coach then asked him why he'd turn down a better offer, and shouldn't he be doing the best for himself that he can. Sam replied saying that he'd given his word and in any case enjoyed being at Hull.
That was it. No sly digs. No unnecessary mentioning of anything. It was part of an answer to a direct question, and TBH listening on the radio it certainly wasn't clear which coach or team they were talking about.

| you know its typical, we have possibly the best fans n club get together I can remember in 40 plus years and it still turns into an excuse for all on here to start slinging mud, maybe the issue isnt the club but some so called fans....

Spot on. It wasnt clear which coach he meant at the forum either. This Hull/Rovers paranoia sometimes goes way too far.

I guess there's always going to be different opinions about everything, thats the nature of a forum like this. Sadly it does mean that some of those opinions turn into mud slinging and it can detract from the event in question here if not careful.

Had a good chat with Jimmy Rule last night too at the end. Spoke to Tony Sutton at some length too, never even seen him before but he came across very well. Passionate about the club but also totally switched on and professional.

I remember when he first came to the club. He was our "boss" so to speak when me and Karen were turnstiling and cashiering at Boulevard, with him being the accountant he was responsible for the turnstile and programme monies. He was a brilliant guy then, asked us what we did and how we did it then just let us get on with our jobs but he was there if we needed him. I have great respect for Tony.

Me too. A thoroughly decent guy tbh.

now looking at the stats that agar showed us tonight shows how much under pressure he was with the very little players we had out injured during the season tbh
i for one am very happy with agar and well done on trying your hardest with the satrs we didnt have all season'"
Shame that some people have had to have those stats written down in black and white before realising we were dealt a bad hand last year. It's all too easy to pick a scapegoat. Thought Agar and the rest of the panel came across very well and the Fitz/O'Meley video was great.

As a counter arguement to that, lots of people understood the situation and fully grasped it without needing the graphic but still think Agar should have performed better with what he had.

You think????

He said himself last night that he asked the players who wanted to be there to show it and there were too many happy just to pick up their pay cheque. He rarely had more than 18 players to choose from so IMO his hands were tied. I doubt anyone could have done much with what he had TBH.

To be fair, it was probably the first time he'd used powerpoint

Well i did.
I agree that his hands were tied around who he could pick. I dont think thats an excuse for playing 5 drives and a kick, or for poor defensive line speed, or for not knowing how to use interchanges etc.
The team we had out there every week should have been more competetive than it was and the halfbacks should have created far more than they did. Agar's gameplan was seriously lacking no matter what bodies he had out there. (or humans as Longy refers to them)

| I was at the foum and enjoyed it very much so again thanks to the fc voices for arranging this. My favourite moments have already been mentioned, longy saying he hoped Saints where falling, and the huge smile on his face as he sat back to listen to the rendition of ole Faithful at the end, a magic moment..but did anyone else pick up on what Shaun had said about the shirt? When asked what he thought about it he did say he thought the home one was a bit thick and warm and hoped they would be changing before the season starts..I must admit, it did put me off the home shirt a bit.
