Cockayne's elbow is horizontal to the ground and Lauaki's face when it comes down. If you elbow someone then make sure its a good one and bring the point of the elbow vertically down into the face.

Cockayne delibrately raked his elbow down Lauaki's face and there was no reason for him to do it imo and it was a cheap shot.

Love to know your opinion on Newtons Lunge on Tansey with his back turned, i gather he had every right to hit him like he did.

I have seen far worse let go this season, so it would surprise me also.

Go in the famous video streaming site and put in Lauaki, there are some top vids of him playing RU. If he was in th team to, it would kick off big time each week!

This thread is almost as embarrassing now as Lauaki's inability to keep his discipline. Any of us who have played a contact sport to any kind of decent level know that if you have an opposition player who is easily wound up; you do it. If he reacts; like Lauaki did then great. It's just the same as identifying a winger who can't catch a high ball or a halfback who doesn't fancy tackling and targeting him. KR successfully rendered a dangerous player impotent because he lost his composure.

What Hame should have done was play the ball and then taken another explosive carry or big hit. I'd have had more respect for him if he'd got up and floored the cheap shot merchants; at least then he'd have done something worthwhile for the penalty instead of petulant pushes in the face.

I'm sure he'll learn. I'd like to see him dropped to force the point home but it's somethinghe'll have to come to terms with sooner rather than later. Still think the ref should have had is eye out though - Cockayne hit someone accidentally? ffs

Pretty much my view on it all, although there is a world of difference between the goading/winding up treatment of Hame and the off the ball stuff that Newton and Murrell were guilty of. The Murrell elbow on Horne in the last minute of a game which was lost was pathetic and out of order!!
