| Would like to see Sa in the centre soon as possible. Sa n mini going at the opposition left will take a toll. Shame we've seen so little of it.
Also how hard is Sa. To play like that with that physicality when you've had a facture of your back. Seems every time he does play he leaves a man on the floor with either attack or defence. Adds some mean to us.

| Only just got in and seen the result, well done to the players and coach on extracting a win at the end of an exhausting period..win ugly, win with flair..I don't rightly care as a win is a win.
Would I prefer we play champagne rugby, yes, but a tick in the W column is much more valuable than a fighting loss, let's hope we can somehow improve the attack and put a decent run of wins together, a loss next week and we are back to square one.

| Cunningham showed up well I though. Defence was good it's just attack in the final twenty . Been a big admirer of Houghton from his junior days but noticed on a number of occasions in their twenty he just passed to the nearest Man instead of going to Pryce or Rankin who werere set up either side with options.Perhaps they need to shout louder. I also think we seem to want to score off every set. We don't seem to build pressure by forcing drop outs. The commitment can't be faulted though. Great effort.
The answer is we get an attack coach to assist Radford.
As for Kevin Brown and crew can Betts rest them every time before they play us please.

| Glad for the victory and effort but in order to become a better side some basic fundamentals need sorting. Defensive line speed was way too slow all game giving Widnes the opportunity to make way too many easy yards. Attack again plenty of effort but was very one dimensional - we need a specialist attacking coach to come in asap. Thought Houghton did pretty well and Cunningham not so good if im honest. I like Pryce but Rankin isnt a half back imo but does a commendable job standing in for Sneyd. Still a win is a win and id much rather an unattractive win then a sparkling loss. We have a real chance to build some momentum now with the Sheffield and Wakey games coming up and both are must wins

Wakefield game is postponed due to the Cup game, the next three are Sheffield, Huddersfield (H), Salford (H). After that it's a visit to Warrington, currently struggling. Your point still stands, though. Need to get a run going as we enter the mid point of the first phase of the season.

We definitely need to do something to improve the attack and quickly, If we'd managed to score one more try (and goal) in every game this season we'd be 2nd in the league on 15 points.

| Quote Staffs FC="Staffs FC"Good, solid and deserved win. Best sliding defence I've seen from us in a long time - despite being a side that that use width Widnes never got around us really. Even more surprising given they must have been much fresher than us.'"
Don't know if you've seen Lineham's MOM interview on Sky, but he mentions we had identified Widnes' love of moving the ball wide and changed our defensive tactics to deal with it. Those interceptions were quite deliberate as well. Whisper it softly, but I think Radford out-coached Betts.

| Lets get something right , This Widnes side rested 6 players for this game, this side put 30 on Warrington ,drew with Wigan, beat Rovers with 6 players out including Brown met a Fc side without Sneyd,Ellis, Watts ,green, yeaman,Hadley and whiting scored one good try and one which should not have been and still fans are having a dig at the coach and players? " Why criticise the defence? I sometimes wonder what planet some fans are on. From the start you could see it was going to be a hard task for fc with a very poor performance from Silverwood who gave Fc nothing and to say the 10 was skinny was a understatement .again a win has stuck in the throats of many so called fans and even if we had won by 30 still would not give any credit to the coach or players.

You could also say that widnes gained all of those wins/draws at home on their synthetic pitch and have only won 2 away games in the last 12 months - both against the sides relegated last season. You could also say that over half their team had a disrupted week due to air traffic control problems in France.
All for the sake of balance of course.
Agree about silverwood though. He turned what was always likely to be a low quality game into a disorganised bore fest
