So if we get a twisted ankle and the doctor comes on the pitch a ref should stop the game? The sad thing is if we had won there would not have been 22 pages about the Dobson forward pass or the Martin injury.

He certainly did keep checking as he is meant to when there is an injured player on the pitch just a shame he forgot about the rule when a club doctor goes on the pitch that play must be stopped..

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

I don't care who is to blame, Ganson or a TJ, it wasn't Hull. There is no closure, we were robbed. I will continue to discuss the thread topic as I so wish, thanks petal.'"

| I really despise Ganson. When you see his name listed as the referee, you immediately know that once the game is over, the talk will be about him - and that's exactly what he's after.
When he's in the middle of the field, it's the Steve Ganson Show. He's vain, egotistical, and strives to create controversy in the pursuit of hearing his own name mentioned.
I can handle it when a referee makes a mistake - they're human afterall, but a referee going out of their way to create controversy and bad feeling, instead of being fair and level-headed, is outrageous.
Everyone of us can think of atleast 3 or 4 crazy desicions this guy has made against their team. It's a sad story for refereeing in this country when Ganson is amongst those at the top.
If Rovers had lost the game, there'd be a thread on there about Ganson too.

Totally agree, the problem is it only happens when he's refereeing a live game on sky if the game ain't on sky he more often than not calls it fairly

Enlighten me ... I can't think of too many 'Ganson' moments against us.

Are you really suggesting he doesn't call games fairly when on Sky then?

I don't think he does not call them fairly, I think he just likes to be the centre of attention. Lets face it when a commentator says
"You can count on Ganson to create controversy & Drama"
You know he has a reputation for doing just that.

I wouldn't say that he craves the attention, it's just that he's prepared to make big calls which creates the attention.
Ganson's his own man and referees in his own way and sometimes controversy follows.
For the game on Saturday, no one will contest the poor decision of the fwd pass. Between them the TJ and Ganson should've made the right call. How the TJ managed to miss it, was (and is) appalling. Still, these things happen from time to time. Doesn't make it right, and it hurts when it goes against you. You had the misfortune for this to be a poignant moment in the game.
The injury debate - it's a tough one to call (without all the facts known). The way it happened and then the play to swiftly move away from the incident I doubt any of the officials would've suspected/known a really serious injury had occurred. By the time the injury had been fully assessed by your physio team etc - Ganson was probably stuck between a rock and hard place. Stopping the game (having let us continue for so long) would've caused uproar from our side and the same finger of blame from us towards the official. As it was, he let us play on and we scored. Had we not, I'm sure he would've stopped play (or had Martin already been taken off?). In which case, why the rush to get him off given the potential seriousness of the injury? Like, I said without all the facts known - it's hard to call.
On Ganson's overall performance. He didn't have to bin Dobson (tho' the right call imo - other officials might not have taken that action). The drop out near the end, he didn't have to look @ the video, to call the drop out either. Swings and roundabouts innit, we benefitted and won the game. Had we not won the game, like others have said, it would be a none issue. Think everyone's just gotta' move on. It's happened, we got 2pts and you lot look well set to finish in a strong position. People questioning Ganson's 'fairness' is just silly.

despite the weight of evidence to suggest he's as bent as a piece of chicken wire?
dream all you want, you didn't win that game, Ganson gifted you it, and he [ipotentially[/i denied somene vital medical attention in doing so.
