| Quote: the artist "i know a lot of folk love to hate tomkins, but i think he a tremendous player. as a fullback he seems to be a link between the old style and modern player, and he's modified his game over the years as he's got older.'" Injuries have meant he lost that yard of pace he used to have, but he's still kept that ultra competitiveness he' always had. I thought he was instrumental for Wigan when they won the title in 2018. He was the best player on the pitch in the semi final. He was England's best player in the 9s competition at the end of last year and was unlucky not to be in that Great Britain team, especially when he'd been the half when we beat New Zealand the previous year.
He looked in good nick from the highlights I saw against Castleford in their last game.

Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?: |
|
| Catalans Dragons coach Steve McNamara believes discipline is the key to undoing Hull FC when they travel to the KCOM Stadium this weekend......
“Statistically the KCOM Stadium is the toughest place to go. Hull FC, credit to them, were the least penalised team in the whole of 2019 by a long way.
“They have not lost a penalty count in the four games they’ve played this year. In the last four times we’ve been there we’ve lost the penalty count 36 to 21.
“We are clear in terms of how we want to play against Hull FC.”

| Back on topic then,
Who plays at 6 against the dragons, Kelly or Connor?
For me Kelly at 6 and put Connor in at centre in place of Fonua as he clearly isn’t fit

Difficult till the squad is out, it would be an idea to use Jake as a Tommy Martin/Tony Myler type six or thirteen, just an idea to give us a bit more movement and creativity later on.
Whoops forgot Savellio, just shows what a team we have

That's what he will go with but I'd like to see us try the combination with Kelly/Connor at full back like we tried in the friendlies.

| No Savellio again, I thought the club said it was only a short term injury. Hopefully he can spell Ellis next week.

| Good to have Ma'u back, I wasn't expecting that this week.
Savelio is starting to become a concern again given his past injury record.
A bit disappointing that he continues to select the ineffective Matongo over Brown, but then Matongo probably won't play anyway. Just making up the squad.
Kelly needs to start imo. As I've said before it would be at FB if I were picking the team, but I know Radford isn't going to do that, so hopefully it's Kelly at 6 and Connor on the bench.

Perhaps they are just looking after Sav, as we now have good cover, hope so.
