Yup, bewildering isn't it.

| Is it also worth pointing out that if Crusaders win this weekend, they'll be above us, despite a 4 point deduction for going into administration?

Agreed, I didn't want Kear to be sacked or Sharp, I also said on Agars appointment that he wasn't the right man but with the decision made he needed to be given his full two and a half year contract regardless of results just for a little bit of stability at least, at the end of last season I would have said thanks but no thanks Richard, and enabled the new man to have a pre season and an input on recruitment.
The decision to extend his contract when it was was criminal, and somebody should be held accountable for that.

Pretty much how I feel. I think the decision to offer him the extension came off the back of the rumours about him being offered the England job, which is just laughable.

Even more so when we'll be paying Agar off and a fee to the RFL to secure McNamara.

I've always thought the 'stability breeds success' idea was a bit of a myth. If you can forgive the football comparison look at Man Utd and Arsenal, it always gets trotted out that it's no coincidence that the two most successful clubs of the PL era (Chelsea aside) have the two longest-serving managers. But if you look at Ferguson, aside from a fairly barren first 4 years (where he was given time due to the pedigree he had built up while at Aberdeen) it's the fact that he has consistently won trophies that has kept him in the job for 20 odd years. It's the same story with Wenger, Arsenal are in a barren spell at the moment as they've been going through a financial transition, but his job was never in doubt because he's consistently proven over his time there that he's the right man for the job by being successful.
IMO rather than stability breeding success, it's actually that [isuccess breeds stability[/i. If you have the wrong guy like Hull FC clearly do, all you're really doing by giving him so much time is the giving the monkey a typewriter thing.
