Thought there was a load of positives to come out of todays game as we really dug in for each other as during the first half we seemed to be playing out of our own 10 in every set.

I also expected us to roll over and let Wire run up a big score when they had that 3 try blitz but again we dug in.

The main problem though is how we play too laterally when we have the ball, if you was a coach preparing to play aginst us the main thing you would emphasise is inside defenders not getting lazy when they slide. Yeamans try came looked a great ball but it was all to do with Berro straightening up the attack and getting the outside defender flat footed.

Quote: Mark "The effort was there, but if we were a bit smarter with ball in hand we'd have put 40 on you, Graeme Horne is never a SL player and until you find a number 7 you will struggle, I think Manu and Yeaman played well with Broughton lookiing like he has a bright future.'"

40 points my ar5e!! icon_lol.gif our defence at times was fantastic, especialliy in the first half, if we were smarter, had better plays and players we may have scored 41 points icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif

Said exactly the same last week. We are either too deep or our receivers just spread it without challenging the defensive line at all. The outside backs or FB get the ball in their hand with a whole load of defenders in front of them who haven't been challenged to make any decisions. Don't care what anyone says better halves would improve that situation massively.

Never ever thought I'd say this....but...... Horney at fullback.....in the halves longy and Judas. He wants back and I'm ready to be shot to bits here but those 3 in key positions? I'm game. Sorry I know this is contraversial to a lot of you's views but the potential is there....

Quote: Mrs Barista "Terrific amount of effort put in today by us. To say their pack is on paper much better than ours, again, for me, this was not where the game was lost. Again we struggled to break down the opposition defence but at least the PTB was faster and we spread the ball wider today. Broughton took his interception really well and his chase across to Riley was excellent. Better game from Yeamo with a trademark hit. Berrigan played as well as I've seen him this season. To say the guy needs an op and is playing with injections his effort was outstanding today. Lee showed up well and G Horne had a good game defensively particularly the 1st half. King put in a couple of strong stints.

On the downside we still look like creating little. R Horne was disappointing, looked slow and his kicking was poor. Tony made good metres but was shown up again in core fullback areas. Radford offered little and both Dowes and Lee looked to have taken knocks - Lee had a huge ice pack on his knee at the end.

Disappointing to have lost, but in terms of collective effort, a big step up. That's all I ask of the players.'"

Surely that's not true .... Danny 2 told us all there was no pride earlier. icon_wink.gif

how many did we blow? berrigan held up over the line, g horne throwing a pass into touch with raynor having a walk in, matt king saving a certain try from g horne, not to mention the two knock ons from thackery and berrigan that you scored from. best get the calculator out if you want to go by your method icon_rolleyes.gif

Quote: Mark "We score 24 but our forth try was from a pass that an NFL Quarterback would have been proud of. The rest were all off dubious decisions by the fat scouser in the middle. Plus the one you had disallowed when Ganson had already waved advantage and our player screwed up., you do the math, you were robbed. I'd like to say The worst team I've seen at the HJ this year, even Celtic give us a game but I'd be lying.'"
