| Well this is the first time I've had the opportunity to post my thoughts on the game so here goes...
Very pleased to get the two points. I thought we started poorly though and heaped pressure on ourselves by giving away so many penalties early on but once we calmed that down and managed to get our hands on the ball I thought we looked pretty good and our attacking play looked particularly impressive. Our new signings all did well and in Rankin I think we may have just found ourselves a very good player at half back.
My main negative has to be our collapse at the end. It felt like the players switched off having decided the match was won and it very nearly cost us.

How did the ref miss it? Because he's a Rugby League ref. There's your answer

When the game is stopped, why cant the video referees advise the referee how bad the incident was ?

Absolutely right for any one who watched that on the TV as we did when we got home or as you did as it happened I would say that it was instantly recognisable as a sending off offence. Whatever ban is given in these circumstances is no reward to the opposing team quite the contrary in fact, because they could have lost a player through it

Unusual as it seems, I actually agree with you. Until the referees and RFL are consistent and punish such incidents immediately i.e sending off, then offending teams will continue to see the benefit of foul play rather than the team offended against. On report is just a cop out for weak referees who should at the minimum being sending players to the sinbin.

I was thinking that when Sam Moa was sent off for that infamous shoulder charge the video referee commented on the occurrence, but for me there is no doubt it was so obvious on each of those three occasions you mention that the commentators all said it should be off so there is little doubt the video referee would too. I think it would be a massive improvement myself.
You see the issue for me is that the offending team should be one man short for their transgression, thus giving an advantage to the opposition, waiting till the following Tuesday to ban the player might handicap his team but gives no advantage to the innocent opposition on the day, who as I said earlier might even be actually penalised themselves when a 'fouled against' player has to come off or continues with concussion or his movement restricted.

| Most certainly would I think, but I can't see them budging, although if it was for all on reports it would certainly give an advantage to the other team for 10 minutes and its probably the best solution because they won't use the other idea (consulting with the video re on possible sending off's) because
they'll say there isn't a video referee at every game.
