Their first try was also from a defensive blunder so whilst it was a comprehensive defeat and probably reflective of the game, it could actually have been a lot closer despite us playing poorly.  I didn't think wigan were that great to be honest.


All 4 teams who played the bug derby games on good Friday looked pretty put of sorts this weekend

Thought we played fine in the first half, was causing them problems in attack and didn't seem to struggle to make meters coming out of yardage, it was individual errors which killed us, and against a team like Wigan you are ultimately going to be punished.


The Second half was easily the worst of the year so far, we looked out on our feet. Its been a big month and players doing more minutes than they probably ought to which seemed to catch up to us. We had a good spell of possession in their half and never looked like scoring.


Hopefully we can get through MW with a win and the players can get a few days off to freshen up.

I'm surprised by how many minutes Bourouh plays, and was calling for Balmforth to come on earlier, but Denive really didn't look fit at all when he came on.

To be fair to DB back from a long injury and only a short period to try and affect a change in the game is a lot to ask.

Hopefully, he will get back to some fom soon.

burough has done ok but I don't think he's been as good as some make out.  Some of his passing from dummy half has been woeful and really slows down the attack.  I'd also like to see him run more to engage the defence rather than just darts out of dummy half.  He's also been overplayed.


The whole forward pack is struggling due to playing too many minutes and it's starting to catch us up.  With 2 proper second rowers starting and one on the bench with 2 props it gives us much more flexibility.  cartwright obviously doesn't trust the likes of balmforth and eseh in tight games meaning burough, herman and knight playing too many minutes.


If herman doesn't come through I do genuinely worry about hudds on Sunday.  If they get a few back and we're even more under strength they could catch us

The games got to consider how it is coming across to casual viewers, generally sports popular in Europe are continuous and fast paced (exceptions Test Cricket, club Union) but we seem to get morphing into American Football where it's one play, stoppage, replay. Repeat. But Americans sit eating all game so the time soon passes!

If it takes five minutes to make a decision then surely there is doubt like Carty said so should have given no try. 

Exactly its should be a max of 30 to 60 secs and if there is nothing clear and obvious then the on field decision stays. For me the 5 min delay while Thaler looked for any reason he could to over turn the on field call just killed the game as it just sucked the life out of it.

Its time the whole on field decision / VR process is reviewed as it is now a becoming too big a negative in the game as it is so poorly executed.

So its doubtful it's a trust issue.


AB has been excellent but the minutes are taking a toll imo.


DB has been injured so Carty might just want ease him back.
