| Quote: Lang Park "We did have one good passage of play when we built pressure on their line.
We even kicked a grubber in the in-goal and forced a dropout. Unheard of for us recently.
Though we didn't score on those 3 sets Taylor barged over shortly after. No doubt in my mind that the effort expended in the previous spell of FC pressure enabled him to do that.
Hopefully LR looks at the video of that and focuses training on building pressure through repeat sets and not trying to score every set when the opportunity isn't there.'"
I think he has had enough time as coach to put that play into motion more often.
If fans can see it surely the coach can
When you have three repeat sets in the opposition 20 and dont score that tells the story, not just in this game but season after season

| Got to agree with what others have said. This thing we are doing with Connor currently just isn't working. I also can't understand why when he does come on we are putting him on the left. It makes no sense to me. Connor looks much more threatening linking with Kelly and with the pace of Naulago outside of him. Defences are frightened to death of giving Ratu an inch, and that was creating space for Connor to do his stuff. Carlos just can't create an opening like Connor can. I also feel like Carlos on the left would stiffen up what is probably our weakest area in defence.
Next week I would definately be going with a backline of:
Shaul
Naulago
Connor
Tuimavave
Faraimo
Griffin in the second row. He can always slip into the backs of there is an injury or if we just want a tactical change.
Actually my preferred option would be what we saw around Easter time. Kelly playing full back in attack and Connor playing there in defence, but as long as Shaul is fit I just can't see him being left out.
The pack is what it is. They will hold there own but just aren't good enough to dominate games this year. Our strengths are our pace and power in the back line, along with the skills of Kelly and Connor. We need to make best use of that. We aren't equipped to win too many forward dominated arm wrestles this year.

| The weakness of the pack has been highlighted since before pre season. Chuck in the fact that we were missing Paea, Bowden, Manu and Savelio it's hardly a surprise we got rolled at times. We heard a lot about Green being the one player who would have made a difference in the semi and who we should be retaining. Not that convinced he is indispensable personally but interested to see how things pan out. The back row certainly seems to be upweighted next year and we have strong backs. Hope to see props similarly strengthened.

| Hard lines in that game Hull FC. I thought the ref had a stinker and definately favoured Wigan.

Considering green had the opportunity to put himself in the shop window I thought he was pretty disappointing. One thing that I don’t get is fir a lad his size as soon as contact is made he stops moving his legs and concedes to the tackle. We certainly missed Paea which didn’t think I’d say after the way he started the season.
Just think we missed a trick last night and Radford got it wrong as should have had Connor starting centre alongside Ratu and Carlos alongside Faraimo with Griffin starting 2nd row and Lane on the bench.
We certainly miss Manu when he’s not in the side.

All most fans will ask is consistency. Unfortunately that is not forthcoming.
The eight point try for example. Not real difference to what happened to Faraimo at Headlingley.
I also think Thaler wrongly awarded a penalty for Ratu being offside when chasing Conners kick late on.
That said, it’s done now. The team need to rest up for a few days and go all guns blazing to Belle Vue.

| Kelly went straight to hospital after the game - given antibiotics for an infection, may explain why he was under par in the 1st half.

Smithies and Partington have huge futures.

| Like others on here I'm puzzled with the situation with Jake. Playing at right centre, he and Ratu were up there with the best in the league. Carlos to my knowledge has always played on the left and with Josh proving his worth in the second row, those three ought to be put where they give most value. Kelly and Sneyd go without saying. Bureto needs to up his game with more outside backs joining us next year or he'll be spending more time in the reserves. That said, and even without our star men shining, we're still 3rd in the league with two very winnable games coming up.
