I think you'll find with cups and play-offs he'd play a bit more than that for Saints...

| Not really the 7 I hoped for, however he is proven, broke a few hearts I hope he can break a few over the next 2 seasons and lead our boys around the park.So welcome Sean.
I think we need a couple more signings to restore confidence in the fans and place bums on seats, it appears our club are progressing in a positive way

| Considering our present 7 is Chris Thorman I find it hard to criticise this signing. I look forward to seeing Long in a Hull shirt next season.

Nope. I mean one quarter. Read the Saints press release - they are committed to bringing the kids (Eastmond) through. They only wanted Long for a transitional period where he gradually gives way to Eastmond. At most he would have started half a season, with Eastmond playing the other.

| At least we've now got somebody capable of kicking a drop goal.

I did read it, but Eastmond is injured more then Dykes was last year!

I really hope Eastmond can hack it at the higher level. It's a tough ask and there are not that many home-grown 7s nowadays.

TBH I don't care what Saints would have done with him, Hull need a SH and have one. We have a good young lad at the club in Williams who needs someone to learn from and in Longy he is learning from the best.
Btw do you rate Eastmond as a SH, he looks more likea running 6 fro what I have seen of him. Who is the other young lad at Saints who can play 7, think he has been playing in the backs this season?

| Fantastic signing for us. He and Horne should work very well together on papar but we really do need to sort out our tactics and gameplan for that partnership to work. Alot of people are talking about signing a new FB/6 but until Tony signs elsewhere we need to at least try very hard to sign him up.
We definately need a new centre. Whiting is doing very well but I would be much more comfortable if we had another centre there so that we have competition for places as I think that Yeaman is slacking in some games due to the fact he has no real competition for his place. I say that as I feel Agar is destroying Hall and I'm not sure he will recover.

| Quote: Whiting "I read Tony wants to go back to the NRL.
Hopefully yes, i forgot about Byrne.
I don't want to see Lee Burnett Maloney Thackray or Whiting go though. Two year deals all round except Burnett and Maloney with perhaps 3 or 4'"
Tony did say that quite a while back, but it was in a programme this season that he wouldn't mind staying. The cynical part of me thinks that's because his injury record over the past 2 seasons will hamper his chances of a decent NRL contract. I'd personally prefer some new blood.
Wouldn't mind if Thackray left so much if we got someone like Lynch.
For me, a clearout would ideally (I know some have contracts so are not so easy to offload) include: Tony, Thorman, Cusack, G Horne, Thackray/King, maybe Moa.
