| funny thing is all this money he has been throwing about, if he had just kept it, it would be a good chunk of the money needed to buy the KC at market value.
What would it be about 25% ish of the money needed to buy the KC. Even if he only offered about £10m for the KC it would go down better than the £300,000 or whatever it was he was offering.

KC and surrounding land must be worth at least £40m

| I've e-mailed the Wail and pointed them in the direction of the Wikipedia page on Thomas Ferens. Hopefully after reading what a proper philanthropist is they might be less inclined to use the word so liberally when talking of that self publicising clown Allam.
The irony is that Allam studied at the uni paid for by Ferens. Somehow I can't see this bloke leaving such a cherished memory to the good people of Hull.

| Brady has made a statement after the rlReferendum motion brought by the LibDems at the full council meetingrl.
Sounds to me like the Council feel they are safe in offering a referendum if Allam meets that set of criteria - as they clearly doesn't believe Allam will
Obviously still not enamoured by Allam's media tactics, either.

| This is very very intriguing. Who are these senior people associated with sport in the city who aren't associating themselves with Allam and are privately supporting the council??
"Mr Brady said his comments were simply aimed at creating "cheap headlines" and again claimed Mr Allam had yet to put any sort of offer on the table.
He also claimed several leading figures in Hull's sporting circles had not made their private support of the council's position public.
He said: "What I am really disappointed about is the number of senior people associated with sport in this city who fell over backwards to assure us they were not associating themselves with some of the comments being made."

Hudgell and Pearson? Can't think of anyone else who falls into this bracket. State support openly to avoid financial repercussions, whilst simultaneously distancing themselves to council officials, whom they also have to keep sweet, from the lunatic toffee apple/asbo/coma commentary. Just a theory.

| Presumably the minutes of the recent meeting between allam and the council should be available under the FOI act? Or maybe uncle harry could post a copy of his notes from the meeting

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

| The majority of council meetings are open aren't they?
Decisions that are as far reaching for the people of Hull as this must be held in the open, loads of you lot are old and must be retired, go along.

it's a commercial discussion, so they wouldn't release any details under FOI.

He's talking about the private meeting between Cllrs Geraghty and Bayes, three senior council officers and the Allam duo. And, it would appear, Blind Uncle Harry as notetaker/fly/tealady. You know, the one after which Allam Snr swore that his final word on the subject had been uttered.
A Freedom of Information Act application should be valid and would take 28 days IIRC.
