On here, which has about as much credibility as an ambulance chasing lawyer telling you to trust him/her

If it was one of the better ambulance chasers, like that Rapid Solicitors on the corner of Bev Rd and Sutton Rd then maybe - but quality ones like them are few and far between, can't think of any others in this town

Its not even an issue were standing by gleeson and if he sorts his head out we have two of the best centres weve had at this club for a long time....no need to bring anyone in for that position.

| Senior would be a baaaaaaaad move, even if he wasn't older than Methuselah our team setup is not suited to his style.

| I really can't believe that people would consider signing Senior! A injury prone 35 year old. It shows why he's linked with Wakey and Crusaders, because none of the top clubs are that desperate to sign him.
Stay well clear.
As for Moa, the club must be mad if there willing to let him go. Unless he's asked for a release.

Agar wants him to stay. The only issue would be if Sam demands silly money. There could be other clubs with the capacity to offer a aft figure.

Let him go? Release?
He's OOC at the end of the season. We want to keep him.

| You know what I mean, not offer him another contract unless like Paul said if he is after silly money. Or will we be thinking that we can offer him a low salary and no matter what he'll sign it?
Would be an utter shame if we had brought him over here got him to where he is now and lose him to another club like Huddersfield for instance.

The club has said we want to keep him. I think it's safe to assume that will involve offering him a new contract. Salary is always a negotiating point, but I doubt anyone thinks he'll sign for a pittance given how successful he's been.
At the same time, with a finite amount of money to play with you can't keep every player by just throwing cash at them. IMO if he does leave it'll be more to do with wanting to win stuff.

To be perfectly honest Sam has gotten himself in a position to barter for a new contract with his performances and consistancy. I don't immediately associate the club with how he has put himself about.
Sure we took a bit of a chance but then what else were we going to get for that sort of dollar anyway?
He's worth a big rise IMO.

| Not sure what people mean by silly money!!.....
Clearly the only reason he will go is if he is offered more cash from another club, well more fool Hull if this happens, he is a fantastic potential.....Hull were prepared to pay a large amount (silly money) for Longy (enough said about that one!), yet they are not sure they want to dig deep for a youngish player with plenty of potential, our club all over!

I understand that the club want to reward Sam with a longer more lucrative contract but other clubs might offer silly money, ie more than the going rate to try and tempt him away. It's about the balance of a squad at the end of the day.
Long was a proven world class half so there is no contest.
Who says Hull are doing it on the cheap as you are implying? For instance he may be on £40k and Hull might think a rise to about £70-80Kand a three year deal is a good offer. Another club with more cap to use might offer £90-100k over three years.
For me £100k for a prop (considering you need 5 of them) is silly money unless you are talking someone of the quality of Ogre, Peacock, Morley and Graham etc.
I don't know the figures but I believe Hull are offering more money, but some clubs might have the capacity to offer more (again I don't know this) and this may turn Sam and his agents head?

| Agree with you Paul, its not as easy as 'digging deep' we've still got to fit him in the cap without upsetting the balance of the team. If some over team come in with a higher paid contract and he takesit, fair play to Sam it is a short career after all.

Yeah heaven's above that we should upset the balance of the team that's battling it out for 8th position.
