Quote: Danny 2 "that made me laugh they paid 5m for him

and now he didnt insure him for injury it will cost him 14m
It wasn't didn't insure him for injury , it was a case of couldn't insure him for a pre-existing problem , ie the one which has occured again . He will be insured but , as is the norm , there will be exclusions .

Quote: FC Wembley 08 "Well thanks for your kind words but i think you'll find other than 'therefore' and 'then' instead of 'than', the letter is grammatically correct.
Even so, not really d about getting an English lesson today thanks!!

On your other point, if you're happy being told you can't read or write that's up to you, but i'm not and can't find anyone one here that is!
Or........ maybe YOU haven't read things correctly and are mistaken, but that would then make Mr Duffen correct wouldn't it??
Your grammar is not brilliant he may have the last laugh.

Genuine question.

What was the reason for someone from HFC not being part of the SMC board ?
Somebody from Hull SL should be on the board to ensure that Duffen does not get his way all the time.

Genuine answer.

Despite what you may read on here I can tell you that they were never asked to be on the original board by the Council!

Adam pearson was put in charge simply because in the embyonic stages it was thought that he was the only person who could head it up. he was joined by threee other local lumanaries but he was an honest broker, who had done the job before and who had an affinity for our game and the city (and infact with another City player became within a whisker of buying our club). However he was always very fair and often told me when I worked with him in the early days how important it was for him to be seen to be completely impartial as far as the SMC was concerned! Which I have got to say I think he was. It was down to him that we played the play off game during Hull Fair week, because he argued our corner with Plummer against the police.

He was of course in it for the money but As far as I know he never consciously let his feelings for the club he owned cloud his judgement about the Stadium. How things appear to have changed.

So now after most have commented on the situation have your opinions changed on Duffen buying into Hull FC? personally i never wanted him anywhere near our club.

And as for the seat on the SMC. Plummer was offered the chance.
In my opinion when the SMC was looking at the initial set up both clubs should have been offered a nominal shareholding thus giving us an input and a seat on the board. Sadly Hull FC is so far removed from the SMC it is like the relationship between Hull FC and it's fans.

Totally agree!

However Duffen has never ever shown any interest in buying into Hull Fc as far as I know, although you may be right, I never wanted Pearson and his syndicate to get it either because I always knew he would be off when he could cash his chips in at City! As for our ex CE being offered a place I only know that when the SMC was set up, (under the same chap that set up KCFM). the clubs directors were not offered a place. I don't like the current set up on our board either, who does, but as someone on a proposed Syndicate once said at the price our directors want for the club no one will buy it anyway! Which has so far proved to be true!

Interesting.

If Adam Pearson was made chair of the SMC because of who he was and not because he was Hull City's chairman, how was that written into the SMC contract?

Does it mean that successive Hull City chairmen have no automatic right to the leadership of the SMC, or does the contract state that whoever is Chair of Hull City automatically heads up the SMC for the next 50 odd years?

If the former, then perhaps we have a hope of ousting Duffen, if the latter then we'd better watch out as future Hull City chairmen may be worse self-serving megalomaniacs than even Duffen.

I can't believe that Hull City council would leave such an important role as the leadership of the SMC open to any Tom Dick or Harry that Hull City happen to inherit as their chair. Than again... icon_rolleyes.gif

The failure to secure a Rugby international at the KC was always an accident waiting to happen. If it was not this international it would have been some other rugby match. When Pearson was in charge at least he was fair, now that he has gone the SMC has lost its impartiality. The terms and conditions of the agreement between the council and the SMC are heavily in favour of the SMC. Whoever controls the SMC controls the stadium. The terms and conditions are heavily weighted in favour of the SMC, the council, and lets not forget it was their money (therefore the council tax payers of Hull) who built the stadium have no say in the running of the stadium.
If I was a resident of Hull these are the questions I would be asking my local councillor:

1) Which employee of the council negotiated the terms and conditions for the running of the stadium?
2) Does he/she still work for the council?
3) If they do not work for the council where do they work now? ( thats a good questionicon_smile.gif )
4) Do the council recieve any money from the profits the stadium makes?
5) Is it correct the Hull City Council not only does not recieve any income from the stadium activities but actually contributes to the upkeep of the stadium to the tune of £100,000 per annum?
