Quote: PAUL M "Imo there are only four clubs currently who can win trophies, Saints, Wire, Leeds and Wigan. We are up there with Rovers and Hudds trying to close the gap.

In the lead up to this game you were supremely confident we would win, we had an off night. We need to improve and I think we will, we won't go from 12th to competing for silverware overnight.'"

but thats the point paul a few years ago we were a team that won a challenge cup and got to a grand final but weve dropped dramatically that teams like rovers who a few ago were playing infront of 1500 against batley have jumped above us and for a club with our off the field credentails it isnt good enough

Yes an area we need to improve. I am just trying to offer an alternative view.

It sickens me that we lose a game and people go beserk about anything and eevrything at the club. Yes we have to improve some stuff but christ had we won people would have been talking about reaching the GF.

I wasn't supremely confident we'd win tbh I was confident that the difference wouldn't be the loss of Yeaman and that our forwards would win us the game. That didn't happen we were beaten in the forwards and we lost like I said would happen if we didn't win that battle. So far I have seen the better teams recruiting strongly for next season and those chasing making astute signings. We on the other hand have done nothing. If this remains the same we will fall out of the 8 next season I guarentee.

What signings? If they are quota players then it's a no brainer we don't have a spot well actually we might have next week.

We have good players, a few tweaks and cover in the halves along with some injury luck and we will compete for the top 6 again.

Imo Berro has to play centre next season and with Yeamo we have strong centres, add Sharp on the wing with Briscoe and our back line looks very good imo. Tansey or Whiting at fullback plus cover for the halves with the pack we have and we won;t be far off.

think people overreacting tonight, disappointing tonight yes but derby games are like that.regarding this season, ive said all season that we are 2 or 3 players short in the back division to challenge the top 3.we need a top centre and a no 6.our pack is as good as most.wiil sharp is a good start,we need 2 or three more.

Think that's wide of the mark, personally. It's now been 3 1/2 years of this tripe, and some of us have been growing steadily disillusioned over that time. Tonight is not just one cloud spoiling our glorious summer of a season, it's the epitome of the cack we've been watching for a while now.

Quote: PAUL M "Bradford? You mean like Ian Sibbit.

We won;t have a huge recruitment this season but will next season, we are targetting huge names for next off season. Plus if we get Berro off quota then we could bring in an overseas half this year possibly.

I am as frustrated as you but it's not all doom and gloom.'"

We targeted one this year, unfortunately he fecked off to Saints and we are left with Radford!

Maybe, IF we play better rugby. But if we don't sort that out massively I don't think it matters who we sign, we won't have the attacking game to win the big games consistently.

I don't want to compete for the top 6, I want to win the cup and the Grand Final and until we get that mentallity installed at this club we will achieve nothing.
Your right about Berrigan though shame it's taken 3 seasons for our coaching staff to work it out.

So do a lot of other sides, it's not that easy.

Still need cover for Houghton unless Washy will be it but Berro must play centre.

I don't a care about other sides Paul, just this one. This club needs to set it's sights on being the best, currently that's simply not the case IMO.

They do I believe and the want to deliver but they see it as a plan to evolve over 5 years and not overnight. You know I respect your opinion and more often than not agree with you and have many of the same issues you do but I think we need to be realistic and have to realise it won;t happen in one season. If Agar does not perform then he will go of that I ahve no doubt but he has gotten rid of deadwood and brought in some top quality players, we still need to improve further and I am confident this year is a year we will learn from.

I for one 100% agree with paul!this season yes we had hopes of acheiving something and to improve and i think we did! at the start of the season there was a post about what we would be happy with and most of us said a top 6 finish and a run in the play-offs,ok the run in the play-offs didnt happen but considering the injuries we have had again (for the 3rd yr running)we actually finished 6th and under the old system(before superleague)6 out of 14 is a bl**dy good improvement from last yr 12th.look at wigan last yr they didnt buy anyone i dont think and they won the league,im not gunna say we will do that next yr but its all about team-mates knowing each other. they will have had 2 off seasons and a season together i for one will thnk e wll be up there again.lets get behind our team and chillpill.gif
