The idea isn't, just ask Horne, Diskin, Wellens or Crabtree.
Players can apply for one after 300 first team games regardless of appearances for a single club, IIRC.

By outdated I mean it is from another era; where players had day jobs and played for boot money ona weekend; where the testimonial was a way of saying thanks and giving them some cash to ease them into being without their supplementary income. Seems an anachronism in these days of well paid professional players.

I understand that but a 12 month series of events topped off by a testimonial game is still a very nice money spinner. Whether players should still be awarded them is another matter of course.

| Just going back to his contract talk i saw him on Thursday going into the FC offices at KC might have been having preliminary talks.

Got to disagree there I think he's having a good season especially since he stopped being so greedy with the ball which is currently to Briscoe's benefit. His defensive work is as good as its ever been and with a better coach we would see further improvement.
Glad to hear no break and hope he's not out for too long.

That was of course one of the main complaints about Yeaman , his reluctance to pass.

Fully aware of that CD and he still does it on occasion. Must have been advice he's taken on board from Uncle Denis.

He does seem to have added that facet of the game a lot more now.
It's good for a player to back himself to score - shows confidence in ability etc - but not at the expense of leaving the winger a virtual spectator.

| I think he's a great centre with huge potential if he's coached well and possibly playing in a successful team. Look how well Ryan Atkins is doing over at Warrington now he's working with Tony Smith.
For your futures sake, keep him. Otherwise you'll be signing a 30 something Aussie, (over for his post NRL pension) to replace him as a quick-fix.

| Quote: "Just bruising thankfully, really good news.
On another note, has anyone heard the rumours about Hull KR looking at signing Yeaman up? As well as that, I've been told today that Leeds are looking at him. Would be a big loss for me and would round off an awful week. We need to make sure Yeamo is signed up in my opinion. Losing him is not an option, especially to a rival club.'" #
Yeamo play for Dobbins NEVER..
