yep. Remember Sharkey being tackled outside Don Valley by some Hull fans and his head came off. He was a quality mascot - better than that 'shark thing' where the costume was only half finished (a sharks head and torso, with the blokes legs in tracksuit bottoms sticking out).

| The emergence of some young exciting players was my highlight. They got their chances due to some pretty pathetic "stars" we bought that shined as bright as a 40W bulb.
King
Horne
Cooke
Poucher
Fletcher
Local players with more heart for the job than over paid superstars that under achieved BIG TIME
Last seasons troubles gave many new exciting stars their chance to shine.
THE FUTURES BRIGHT COME ON YOU HULLLLLLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAAAAAA

| Quote: russelbarwich "I seem to recall Alan Hunte rescuing a point against London in the 1st game of the season a few years back. Not sure what season it was.....Everyone screamed for the penalty and 1 point but he saw different. Not sure it was worth the fee we piad though!!
At least we got Prescott out of that deal!!'"
I think you're thinking of the second game of the season at home against London in our first superleague season. We got a penalty with about a minute to go losing 6-4. Everyone was screaming to go for goal but Hunte said we'll take the six. Mark Johnson scored in the corner with the final play of the game giving us an 8-6 win I believe.

| Actually think we were 4-2 down at the time having thought about it. Though the final score was 6-4.

| Hornes late kick into the corner for Hallas (I think) in the game against Sheffield at the end of the season, then the pitch invasion at the final whistle is probabally one of the best from a bad era.

| I remember Tim Wilby standing near us in Threpenny and DDD always saying on the radio that it's great that the chairman (or whatever his job was) chose to stand with the fans, then after an altercation in a bar after a game he said it was naive of him to put himself in that situation by mixing with the fans.

I'm still shocked at how crap alan Hunte was for us back then. He scored an awesome try away to Sheffield (?), then did naff all.'"
Bit harsh, he broke his leg after just 4 or 5 games.
