| Watched it again.
We need to stop appealing for penalties every tackle and get on with the game, be ready for a quick play of the ball rather than shouting at the ref.
Think we need to do better with our hooker rotation, Bourouh has a nice little running game, but is limited to how often he runs as he is playing too many minutes, give Balmforth 10 minutes before and after half time.
Eseh back in for Laidlaw is probably the only change I'd make, unless someone is injured, suspended.
Watts will have to wait for his chance.
Chamberlain back to backrow(thought he did well when he came on).
We were poor apart from a couple of spells, but Wigan got their defensive tactics right.
Pryce looked dangerous, still not convinced about Cust, very hit and miss, even when Sezer is a bit off, he still has his moments. Cust is either great or awful.

| Also not sure Knights tackle is a sin binning, slightly late, but not high.
Should be ok to avoid a ban, but you never know these days.

Davy Litten got hit late at one point, later than Knight's tackle, and it was a penalty only. Thought it was frustrating at the point considering we had Ashworth binned for a late shot 2 weeks ago against Wire. Just rubbed it in more when 10 minutes later Knight gets binned for a good hard shot. Maybe Litten should have stayed down like Smith did, but this staying down business is just embarrassing for the sport now. Not sure if anybody say Lachie Miller the other night just stand there and flat out refuse to play the ball until the video ref looked for a penalty (no penalty given).

| Disappointed, but far from dejected. As others have said there wasn't a lack of effort; just a bad day at the office.
Second row is killing us. All post-contact meters coming from the front-row and they're being over-used. I appreciate this is lack of viable alternative. I think fitness levels look good.
I don't know if it's just me, but what has happened to Barron this off-season? i honestly thought 18 months ago he was going to be too light-weight, but he's bouncing players off for fun and looks an absolute handful. I'd go as far to say Litten has physically aged years in the off-season. Kudos to the conditioning team.

| They really need to sort out these video ref decisions. It's making games dull. For me you look a couple of times and see if the refs original decision is clearly wrong. If you can't decide by then just go with the Enfield decision. Thales is the worst and also seems to overturn more than everyone else.
Players have a part to play with this constant appealing. I listened to a bit of the blundering coverage on the way to the ame yesterday and they said it s getting like cricket with people waving their hands in the air

| Jake the Peg:
Pretty terrible performance from the off. The first set they marched easily up the field which is a good indicator.
Way too many errors and missed tackles to be competitive and it looked like a game too far for our patched up side, we really are missing 2 decent (proper) 2nd rowers.
Having said all that, they were fortunate to be awarded 2 tries which had gone up as no try and I also thought the field one looked like an obstruction but I've not watched it back.
Worst part of the game for me was that period in the 2nd half at 26 12 when we had god knows how many sets in their 20 and never looked like troubling them.
Disappointing overall but we'd all have taken 4th after 9 rounds before the season started.
Hopefully some easier home games to come
Agree with all this and with my b&w glasses on I would question at least a couple of their tries. Not sure on ruling but if an attacker is laid on a defender who is in touch does that not mean the attacker is in touch? But that aside if it takes that long to prove the ref was wrong then it isn?t an obvious error which is what the vr is for? I thought the Wardle try was an obstruction and how can Thaler claim that the defender (Briscoe) initiated the contact when Nsemba was in his way and he just ran into him. That was what happened in the earlier try and no problem with that one. We were poor though and made some bad errors and lost composure. A good lesson learned hopefully?

It was the wardle try i meant, not the field one. Their first try was also from a defensive blunder so whilst it was a comprehensive defeat and probably reflective of the game, it could actually have been a lot closer despite us playing poorly. I didn't think wigan were that great to be honest. All 4 teams who played the bug derby games on good Friday looked pretty put of sorts this weekend

| Very disappointing performance from the boys, but hopefully, we will turn it around next week.
Then, a handy little break. Is anyone close to returning?
Am i the only one who thinks Amir should be subbed earlier to change the speed of the game?

| Thought we played fine in the first half, was causing them problems in attack and didn't seem to struggle to make meters coming out of yardage, it was individual errors which killed us, and against a team like Wigan you are ultimately going to be punished.
The Second half was easily the worst of the year so far, we looked out on our feet. Its been a big month and players doing more minutes than they probably ought to which seemed to catch up to us. We had a good spell of possession in their half and never looked like scoring.
Hopefully we can get through MW with a win and the players can get a few days off to freshen up.

| I'm surprised by how many minutes Bourouh plays, and was calling for Balmforth to come on earlier, but Denive really didn't look fit at all when he came on.

Me too. To be fair to DB back from a long injury and only a short period to try and affect a change in the game is a lot to ask. Hopefully, he will get back to some fom soon.
