a bit of incompetence from all parties concerned but the biggest part from the club for not checking everything out first even when being offered free advice on the matter as someone said,

I think a fair number of organisations have seen the issues in RL and decided not to announce anything until they get a clearer idea of the visa circumstances of certain individuals.
