That's a worry! To say we are looking for suggests we haven't even identified who we want, let alone enter the protracted scenario of negotiations.

Maybe. With the new stadium they're going balls out for a good year to secure another franchise. They've already signed a lot of players including Vinnie Anderson so will be a fair bit stronger next year and are maybe after a marquee signing to top it off. Didn't know whether that article was implying that Long was a target of transfer speculation per se or just in respect of Salford. The standard of journalism makes the HDM look like a broadsheet.  |
