Quote: UllFC "While the clubs recruitment should be a lot better I do find some players motivations quite baffling, it seems Tom Johnstone who's in great form at a club that is in with a good chance of trophies has turned down marquee money to head home to Wakefield??

Some just value being close to home and familiarity above anything else.'"

Which is another reason why we need to get our recruitment right for next season , there's a risk that Wakey will have a better side than us next season and we'll be in a battle with Cas/Toulouse for the wooden spoon

Quote: Mr. Zucchini Head "Fully agree, Walker is bang average. However there are certain positions where we can only dream of being bang average at the minute, so it's not the priority. I'm hoping Moy will continue to develop to the point where he can make a case for the 1 shirt. But failing that full back is something we will need to address the following year.'"

Disagree. We’ll see the best of Walker in a higher quality team. He’s got it, more than most of our squad.

Maybe we should sign the winger from the women's NSW team. She could half shift.

I just think he's a bit of a throwback to the days when full backs didnt really need to provide a creative outlet. He's solid under a high ball, his positional play is sound and he supports well. But he has next to no creativity or flair. Jamie Shaul was lacking in those areas too but at least he was an elusive runner with genuine pace. I just dont think hes good enough if we have aspirations of getting back to the top. I hope youre right though and we see him shine with better players around him.

I like Walker, good player, hope we keep him and hope he can keep fit. He's been injury prone his all career so far and deserves a bit of luck, because he plays like a winner. Been maybe our best of a bad bunch so far this year.

Quote: Mr. Zucchini Head "Is it any slower than our 2016 backline which could and arguably should have won the treble? Talanoa, Yeaman, Fonua and Michaels was hardly rapid. I'd like to get more pace in the backline too but its not the be all and end all.'"

big difference is we had dominating forwards in 2016 plus Fonua was starting to become a real handfull for any defence

He showed a couple of times he can throw out a pass, both tys for Martin against Warrington amd Leeds.

Did it for Rovers too last year, needs to be judged in a better side, hard to be a pivot when your other pivotscare Charles, Smith, Houghton and Cator.

Martin apart Walker is by far our fastest back in the current team
Like a previous poster has said if we can put a decent team together that actually competes you will see the best of Walker.
Peters at HKR rated him highly and it was only because he had promised Hiku the full back position and had already signed GIldart for this season that he had to let him go
Most KR fans also would have liked him to stay
