Preston Campbell is a good runner of the ball very fast, may not be the best creative player around but would still have him over Thorman without a doubt. There arn't alot of 7's out there at the minute who are available and are world class.
All this talk of Orford being available, well thats not likely to happen now as he is due to re sign with Manly.

| Quote MR BOJANGLES="MR BOJANGLES"Sat near to JR and TS the other day at the game and asked them about Crocks and its a simple case of, No visa-No contract.
Also both these two are not getting paid by the club at this time.
When the arrive with a visa, the contract starts and they then can get paid !'"
Hmmmmmmmmmm!!
Could this be the reason, of the initial application being rejected??
Maybe Chris 28, could enlighten us,
if the employee has no valid contract, Would a visa application would be refused??.
IF the sole reason for rejection, was his previous misdemeanour,
Why re-apply again???

His teammate, Scott Prince is a better option.

Unlikely as there must be some element of a contractual arrangement in order to get the work permit/certificate of sponsorship in the first place. After all I guess this is how all clubs have operated in the past and it's never been brought up before.
If the only reason for rejection was the misdemeanour, it could be outweighed by other factors, hence the reapplication with character references etc. A basic application (which is prob what happened first) prob didn't include extra evidence in support so the easy route was a refusal. Now there's a whole lot more to consider.
I had a quick chat to TS on Sunday and he said it's like trying to get blood out of a stone to get any sort of update. TBH I think the club should, if they haven't already, approach their local MP now. I think it's Allan Johnson, unless I'm sorely mistaken.

| Not too worried about the centre spot, to be honest. We have players at the club who can fill the role and I'd prefer to see the money used elsewhere.
It's no secret whatsoever that we need a scrum half, but unless we sort out the issues with our forwards a top class half back will be wasted.
If Crocker and Lauaki [ido[/i end up coming, that should make a bit of difference. But if they don't, we'll need to do some serious recruiting in that area.
I'd like to see something like:
Tony/New FB (depending on whether we ever get Tony back from injury)
Calderwood
Briscoe/Hall/Whiting
Yeaman
Raynor
Horne
New SH
Dowes
Berrigan
Cusack
Tickle
Crocker
Washbrook/Whiting
Thackray
Lauaki
Manu
Washbrook/Whiting

| If we get Luauki and Crocker then I would be happy with our pack next season, especially if we keep Moa and have him well trained in the offseason.
Whilst I woud like to see a top centre I feel a SH is absolutely vital compared to anything else so for me that is no.1 priority.
The next priority for me would be fullback, not sure if Tony will be worth another contract due to his injuries so I would look to strengthen there.
New Fullback
Calderwood/Briscoe
Hall/Whiting/Horne
Yeaman
Raynor
Horne
New Scrumhalf
Dowes
Berrigan
Cusack
Crocker
Manu
Washbrook
Thackray/King
Moa
Luauki
Houghton
