I don't know if the tactics are too complex or not but I don't think complex anything is a good match for the majority of our players especially in view of having a young inexperienced half attempting to implement the game plan. It's been hard to make out any game plan for the average fan on the terraces for a while now. We just seem to be covered in a shroud of averageness - many players are playing below a standard that we think at least they are capable of.

Gentle showed great promise last year but this year simply hasn't been able to address the same problems that appear week in and week out. He'd better find something from somewhere by Sunday week otherwise it's as good as over this season. I would suggest a simple direct game plan around the ruck with a bit of close support running. I know the game is far more complicated than I realise but I'd sooner they did something repeatable and simple that we have a chance of completing rather than the now familiar disjointed, error-strewn offering that at times is just embarrassing.

Gentle has repeatedly made references this season to 'coming up with a game plan that suits the players we have'. This would tend to support the position that our game plans are too complex for our seemingly dense players to understand or execute reliably.

Well, Peter - maybe it's time to strip everything down to the basics and see if we can't at least get them right. I'd take a boring win right now.

From where we are now I think this is our only chance of at least putting in a performance worthy of the level we're supposed to be playing at.

Peter, you said hull will be bigger,faster and smarter than last season, and would also fitter and stronger and also you would have a trick up your sleeve for every opponent,well you had better stop wearing sleeveless shirts cos' it aint working, and finally stop reading agar's scripts cos' that is getting boring as well.Still as fc fans say "in gentle we trust".

I don't think Gentle is a bad coach. Maybe he thought he'd be able to tackle FC but IMO, yes him being the coach must shoulder some of the blame. I Feel the players are letting him down.

Look at what happened in 2008.. We were losing until Kear was sacked then did a 13 game unbeaten run. Why did we play poorly 1 minute then all of a sudden come good??

People say we lack creativity, that's true but when you've got your creative players sat in the stands it's pretty hard. Yes we recruited Miller but we won't see the best of him until next year.

Also maybe it's not part of the problem but how much does Contract Talks affect players ability to play the game?? Honest question.
