Whilst I'm all in favour of promoting youngsters into the team I do feel that should we lose some of our more experienced players such as Tickle, O'Meley and Galea that we could do to replace them with some other experienced players to give the squad balance.

Age has little to do with it.

Out of that 17 - 6 have less than 50 SL appearances and a total of 10 have less than a hundred. Behind that there's less than 30 between them.

Also, if we're signing a new half then Horne won't play, so that's one less experienced player.

There's also the question of leadership. Only 3 or 4 of those could you class as leaders - Lynch, Ellis and Westerman, and maybe Whiting.

After Friday, I couldn't even consider Westerman or Whiting as leader contenders

Westerman against Rovers seemed to be the only one firing them up behind the sticks -

Nothing wrong with Westy's spirit it's a strength of his. If you do the firing up though you do need to practice what you preach.

By the end of the season you could be able to add 200 apps to that squad, would that be enough?

Look at the ooc players and then add the "Salford" factor.

200 apps doesn't go far across 10, we'd still have roughly the same in each segment.
