I'd second Surma at Barton. Well worth the trip across the bridge. It is fantastic, we went last weekend. Doesn't win awards for being crap.

Swadh is authentic South Indian cuisine Unrivalled in Hull for taste and authenticity. I have travelled all over India and i am finally delighted to find an authentic tasting indian restaurant.
The food is different from the normal curry houses that churn out red coloured rubbish for drunks, that's full of sugar and all made from the same base sauce and dishes they wouldn't eat themselves!
This is superb but the menu requires you to be adventurous as you probably won't have heard of most of the dishes. the food is incredible and brought back memories. The best thing is it feels healthy and not full of oil.
